The knockback should be pretty high, light and heavy melee have different knockback, with the heavy one obviously having the bigger one. This can be used in melee builds, but also AGAINST them. If an abrams is in your face, activate it and punch him away to safe distance. Also there should be a visual effect when the item is active, something like a red glow around the fist.
 
Distance knocked back, knockback speed as an impulse, air locking. Actually that would be pretty interesting if this air locked.
We don't have any reference numbers to judge from. If I wrote 10 knockback speed, what does that even mean?

The way I see this working is an explosion occurring in the place you meleed that pushes enemies away from the center of the explosion. Like viscous punch, many different things will affect how far away the enemy is knocked back.

Also airlock can be a good idea, since you can't actually punch enemies straight UP with this item, so it won't be as OP as bebop.
