Reprisal: T3 Reactive Barrier upgrade for Parries

I really like the idea of adding damage (spirit/bullet) resist, but only as a conditional effect of the barrier getting triggered. Adding flat +10% spirit resist feels a bit generic and I think I would make this item decent even if there isn't much CC on the other team as another source of spirit resist.

If it is conditional it matches Reactive Barrier and you can increase the amount of resist granted so that it better negates the parry stun's damage amp. I think it matches more close to your intended design goals than a flat benefit.

I like the cooldown being halved on parry stun. Neet idea. (y)

The Spirit resist on Reactive Barrier is constant, and given this is a t3 upgrade to it I just increased it by a nominal amount to match the cost. I could see increasing the resist while the barrier is active though. That's an interesting thought.

i dissagree I think being parried needs to be viable, this item would make melee unpunishable by getting always a huge shield after getting parried

You already receive an over 2 second stun that can't be reduced, plus a massive damage bonus on the parried target. You have this without having to invest any souls. I don't think a small shield is going to make melee suddenly "unpunishable", especially late game when abilities start to hit quite hard and 2 seconds stunned becomes a death sentence.

I don´t know, I´m currently playing only calico and I feel often unkillable even after getting parried, I don´t think it would be healthy if billy and calico could get a shield whenever they get parried, they would need to nerf both characters to the ground to make this not gamebreaking

Both Calico and Billy have abilities that allow them to proc melee effects, which is the only reason why melee items even works on them in the first place. You also shouldn't be meleeing very often on Calico. Your bombs, cold front and swipe are going to be the major source of damage within your combo. You don't need to hit a light melee when swipe already procs spirit strike/snatch. Once you go against people who are a bit more confident and knowledgeable about the game, you'll find very quickly that a parried light tends to get you melted pretty quickly.

ok I understand but there are also many ways to outplay the parry of the enemy. I think it would make parry very cheap if there would be an item with 6 sec barriar and those are as big as paiges ability or even bigger with spirit scaling, like have you read the item that he is suggesting? 325 base on top of that 2.1 spirit scaling. I don´t know this sounds OP to me

There aren't actually that many. That's why the only heroes that bother with heavy melee outside of low elo either have an ability that can proc melee effects, or CC setup that can stun someone for long enough to get off a heavy melee.

Reactive barrier already does this. This item's only difference is slightly increased base stats + halving barrier cooldown upon a successful parry. It's actually pretty tame, and probably one of the more grounded concepts for a reactive barrier upgrade.

I´m open to test the item as it is, since it´s open beta, I don´t believe it will be healthy or fun, even less on lower elo who also should be accounted for when you create items and champions. They should definitly test much more in this game

I will point out that the half CD only works if the item is activated on a a Parry. If you already got hit by another CC that activates the item's CD(such as Seven Stun, Lash ground slam if you'rein the air, Doorman cart, the list goes on), the bonus CD reduction has no effect.

The idea is that in order to get the bonus, you have to already be meleeing and kind of hoping to get parried in a situation where they can't just blow you up through the barrier. I'm actually thinking that its insufficient for a t3 given I didnt increase the barrier value at all and that I should probably have it grant something like 15% Bonus weapon and Spirit resist while the barrier is active.
