Reload Delay Bug

Currently, there is a tiny delay before heroes begin reloading magazines. This negatively impacts gameplay due to reloads not starting immediately before abilities that don't allow initiating reloads, but do allow continuing. Can the reload begin instantly on empty mag or manual input?

In these clips I wait a moment for the reload on the first cast, but on the second cast I immediately activate beam which happens before the reload. Having to wait the tiniest moment feels clunky, and I think this should either be fixed by removing the reload delay or allowing a reload to initiate during abilities that allow it to continue.

i agree on this as a mcginnis player :')

some might say skill issue but i say i shouldn't have to micro my reload inputs that hard (esp when also using active reload -> if you hit R right as the reload starts it's an insta fail)

Yeah it's not even really a skill thing either since it's not difficult, just annoying and clunky and gets in the way if you're a player with fast inputs.

already reported in juny, but I think it's a mechanic because it doesn't only work with items that have a duration

If it's actually an intentional mechanic, it doesn't add any sort of skill or nuance to the game. It's both easy to do and has zero drawback for doing so every single time. Plus, there are already several abilities that allow both continuing and initiating reloads during them already, and it's very inconsistent which ones do or don't.
