Ranking up possibly broken?

Been on a 8 game win streak as Oracle 1 where we're winning and doing well in Oracle 5+ lobbies (even Phantom lobbies) and haven't ranked up once. My friend that I've been queueing with all day is currently on an 11 game win streak and has not moved from Phantom 3 to Phantom 4 yet. Curious if the ranking system is working as intended or not, as I've never had to win this many games consecutively to rank up before.

Edit: An 11 game win streak didn't change my rank either. My Phantom 3 friend topped out at a 14 game win streak with no changes. After having our streaks broken, we ended up winning another 5 or 6 games in a row with no changes in rank.

11 games won in a row now and still no rank up. Yet someone in my party ranked up from Oracle 2 to Oracle 5 after we won?

Same thing lol. Got Ascendent 1 right before the update, was ranking up after every couple games. Went on an 8 game win streak after the update, still Ascendent 1.

At this point I'll accept like a recalibration up because I for sure should be like Oracle 5 or so by now.

Same thing happened to me today, can't rank up on a 6 winstreak and deranked in a single loss

Bumping to hopefully get a response from someone on the dev team.

I know ranks are purely cosmetic and "whoa shiny image that means nothing because ranks will reset on launch" but it's a matter of:

A) Your rank pre- launch reset I'm sure will heavily weigh your calibration rank post-reset

and

B) It's kind-of frustrating knowing that I'm performing better than I was previously as a result of watching informative videos from some of the content creators for the game (Poshypop, Deathy, Xera, etc.) and yet I have absolutely nothing to show for it other than a W-L ratio.

Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

edit: okay i just won a game and went up a single rank; i am 17-3 since the update dropped .. maybe they just fixed it? hopefully thats not the winrate you have to hit from now on lol

I guess the new update(s) put a heavy pause on rank changes for long time players due to the influx of new players and the balance issues with new heroes. Considering that most of the games at all ranks will have a new character in them, there's going to be a high degree of uncertainty for the value of those players hero specific MMRs. That uncertainty means that they get high volatility on their ranks, while the players on characters they've played before get a grace multiplier that is very low, as to not affect their rank in response to the new heroes.

It sucks when I go against the players that don’t seem to have many games on, pub stomp, and neither player on both sides move at all

I agree. It's probably something that will revert to normalcy after the next week.

necroing this thread, the same thing is happening to me. 7 of my last 8 games are wins, no rank ups, just stuck at oracle 4. I've noticed the hero skill markers moving but my rank won't budge at all
