Rank decrease after teammate left match

I just went down a rank after i lost a match where a teammate quit and the notification that the match was safe to abandon came up.

So what's the bug again? You ranked down during the match? Or ranked down because you lost and/or abandoned the match? Because if its the latter than that's working as intended

A teammate left after a couple of minutes. After a while we were left 4v6. That notification popped that it was safe to abandon. I didnt but lost and lost rank.

Doesn't matter if you leave or stay. "Safe to abandon" is just you not getting low prio queue. It has nothing to do with the match not counting as a loss. Been like this since forever and Valve has not fixed. Even when ranked and unranked was separate still same.
