While mid to late game fights are presently very enjoyable with the current hero and interaction design philosophy, certain drafts create situations where any fight is decided by one or two ultimate abilities regardless of soul lead or map position; combined with Unstoppable, this can escalate to practically depending on the enemy to make an extreme mistake in order to take a good fight (an example right now being Haze's ultimate when built for duration and movement.) Although counterbuys and positioning are always options, I'd like to put forth an idea for a niche but very interesting counter to overly strong ult teams that allows characters to retain strong identities in Quixotic Catalyst.

Although extremely strong when applied well, its cost means it can spend long periods of time with no value while strong ults aren't up or the enemy is staggered, making it a risky buy as opposed to power or survivability spikes for the same purpose, and could be a fun way to turn engagements when other options have been exhausted. Its projectile nature also leaves it vulnerable to a counterspell, but I would personally choose to have it pierce Unstoppable as the enemy could still play in a way to get value from it regardless.
Certain ultimates (Sinclair, Mirage) don't work with this item immediately, and would need special behvaior, but I think each has an intuitive solution like instant-cast and failure if no target is found, always using on self, or simply putting it on cooldown without use.
