Projectile speed increase - item

Item makes your bullets (possibly ability projectiles too?) fly faster. Similar item in Dota2 is Witch Blade.

Right now, my experience with Wraith (and possibly some other characters too) was that her gun was very hard to hit targets with, and at longer distances became nearly impossible to land shots, needing to predict/lead your bullets a great deal. The item could fit a few heroes that shoot a projectile with certain abilities as well.

Another reference is in the Hunt:Showdown game - there is special ammo for some guns (called Spitzer or FMJ ammo) which are bullets with increased velocity.

100% necroing this thread because I was going to post the idea. A 500 soul item that gives +15% weapon damage, but +25% projectile speed would really help against some laning set-ups.
 
Love the idea, both on weapons and abilities. Could imagine building this as a core item on spirit-based characters who would get great mileage out of dedicating a weapon item slot to this to speed up their projectile abilities.
 
It would be cool if the idea that c.jacob.edwards tweaked a bit more complicated.
Some heroes, for example, +25% to the projectile flight animation will give too much (for example - shotgunners)
Somehow would find an edge that would work for all weapons
However, since they brought up this topic, the increase in firing speed (which can be picked up) should be weakened, because it gives too much advantage
 
It would mean introducing a new stat into items:

+% Projectile Speed
or
+% Bullet Speed

Generally speaking, you feel the benefits of Projectile/Bullet Speed with targets at longer distances, since "leading" shots becomes less needed with faster projectiles.

So coupling this new stat with items like Sharpshooter or Improved Reach might be logical. However, such items might easily become very strong providing inherent synergy.
 
Witch blade from dota 2, Is that a bad thing? I think it's kind of interesting that there's an item that speeds up bullets.(y)

Hmm... maybe. Increased projectile speed, like others said, would require a new stat and could result in some balancing issues... perhaps that could be adjusted though.

[Gunpowder Loaded] - Passive ATTACK, 500 cost.
-10% Fire Rate
+25% Projectile Speed
+10% Effective Range
PASSIVE
When standing still, increase Fire Rate.

[Gunpowder Jammed] - Passive ATTACK, 1250 cost. (Upgrade to [Gunpowder Loaded])
-10% Fire Rate
+65% Projectile Speed

When standing still, increase Fire Rate and decrease Reload Time.

These items probably show a good balance between increased projectile speed while also coupling in increased vulnerability in a logical way. You'll experience a fire rate penalty if you're not standing still, as if the recoil from 'packing your bullets with extra gunpowder' was more heavily impactful. Standing still, however, and effectively 'bracing your gun for the heavier bullets' will essentially remove that fire rate penalty, and give essentially just be a projectile speed increase. Plus, it adds effective range, so that you can shoot just that little bit further.
