I was thinking about an idea for a character based around the fire service. Just a loose idea.
"Probie" (short for probationary firefighter) is trying out for FDNY when an encounter with an unnatural blaze sets his life onto a course he couldn't have anticipated.
He has a charge ability similar to Abrams, but it locks onto friendly heroes. Depending on how damaged the friendly hero is, he gains resistance during the charge. On arrival he can carry the teammate away from danger, providing resist to himself and the injured teammate.
He has an ability revolving around the hook and ladder--maybe he can set up a ladder for teammates to quickly scale locations that would normally take a lot of stamina to reach?
His ultimate ability allows him to instantly take a spectral fire engine (or truck) to the location of an ongoing teamfight from anywhere on the map, providing damage bonuses to his teammates.
Melee would either be boxing gloves or a halligan.
The only issue is I'm not sure what a ranged weapon would be. Fire hose seems obvious, but without an engine or hydrant for it to attach to, it might look strange if it was just flopping out in the wind. Maybe a "spectral" hydrant appears near him whenever he shoots?
