Possible Low Priority System Bug / Endless LP Queue Cycle

Hello, I would like to report what seems to be a serious issue (or possible bug) with the Low Priority system in Deadlock.

I was originally given 1 Low Priority match. I completed it by winning. After that, I was immediately given 2 more LP matches. I also won those and stopped playing for the day.

The next day, I played again, and after my first match, I suddenly received 7 more Low Priority matches. I completed those as well.

Then the following day, after playing just one normal match again, I was assigned 8 more Low Priority matches.

This pattern keeps repeating.

I am not intentionally feeding, griefing, AFKing, or abandoning games. I play normally, but LP keeps being added in larger amounts even after I finish previous penalties.

Another major issue is the quality of Low Priority matches themselves:

  • Players are often placed on completely random servers instead of their normal region.
  • For example, I live in Europe and normally play with around 50 ping, but LP can place me on American servers with 150+ ping.
  • This creates an extremely poor gameplay experience.
  • LP matches often contain:
    • AFK players
    • griefers
    • toxic players
    • suspected cheaters
    • generally low-quality matchmaking

Because of this, escaping Low Priority feels almost impossible.

You complete LP matches, then get reported again by the same type of disruptive players, receive more LP, and the cycle continues endlessly.

This creates the feeling of a punishment loop rather than a fair rehabilitation system.

My concerns are:

  1. Is Low Priority functioning correctly?
  2. Are penalties being incorrectly stacked or delayed?
  3. Why are players forced onto random high-ping servers?
  4. Is there any protection against endless report loops inside LP?

Right now, it feels less like punishment for actual misconduct and more like being trapped in a broken system where leaving is nearly impossible.

Please investigate whether this is intended behavior or a bug.
Thank you.

You are where you belong, amongst other disruptive players who constantly greif their teammates and their games.
"This creates the feeling of a punishment loop rather than a fair rehabilitation system."
Lets be real here, you would never change the way you ruin games. You would just come back and do the same, leave your teammate's lane at 2 mintues so that they can get abused 1v2 and even get their walker pressured at 6 minutes. Your behavior doesnt change post lane either, you will constantly ignore fights and not helping teammates for skirmishes or urns. Leaving your team to lose man disadvantages because you want to selfishly gather stats through boxes.
It is so insane that you are only being punished now after doing this for months. Seems to be the system is working just fine :) Glad to see the system finally taking care of the most disruptive eternus player so far.

Goated

I have personally played with this individual and i can say from experince that this player does leave the lane post 2 min to do boxes and leave the tower to die, wich is weakening the mental state of the players in the team, since losing tower early on, leads to ganks from that lane wich ends up losing another tower and that is damaging the quality of the game. Eternus 6 should be the rank where every player knows what theyre doing and playing like that is the opposite.

I can answer all 4 of your questions
  1. Is Low Priority functioning correctly? - Yes, we all doubted it before, but you convinced us otherwise
  2. Are penalties being incorrectly stacked or delayed? - No
  3. Why are players forced onto random high-ping servers? - Because there are very few players in low priority, and if the match search was tied to a region, some players could spend hours searching for games, and in Asia and Oceania the search could be endless
  4. Is there any protection against endless report loops inside LP? - Play normally and listen to players who are unhappy with how you play and behave. (Reread if this doesn't work)

The most frustrating thing about this cycle of low-priority matches is that reports work in low-priority matches, even though they shouldn't, like in Dota. With working reports in low-priority, you can still earn a few more low-priority games, even if some crazy player just randomly reports you. I broke out of this vicious cycle myself, playing 22+ matches, and I understand how frustrating it all is. Don't listen to those who tell you that you belong in low-priority. You can overcome this on your own, the main thing is to stay positive.

Deadlock offers plenty of room for completely different playstyles. Everyone tailors their builds and heroes to their own needs. But there are reasonable limits to everything. When you’re playing a core character and literally skip the laning phase and mid-game, while simultaneously blaming your teammates for not giving you enough space or other opportunities, it’s only natural that you’ll get reported.
Typical gameplay (ruin) for this player:
1. Buy an egg
2. Go for boxes in the second minute, taking such a wide circle that the diameter of Saturn’s rings would be smaller
3. Build a green investment build and try to farm the jungle with it, also taking boxes so that your teammates are left with absolutely nothing.
4. Return to a lane where the guardian is no longer present, pick up the pack, and continue farming boxes and spots in the jungle.
5. Finish this cycle in about 30 minutes; if your teammates managed to hold their own at all, then walk away with a satisfied look and end the game. If your teammates couldn’t do anything going 5v6, then grumble in dissatisfaction and go play the NEXT GAME USING EXACTLY THE SAME GAMEPLAY.
The reporting system works wonderfully after all

5-6 MONTHS leaving lane after 2 mins and ruin all early game for 5x players in team.
enemy have: 3 towers, 1st urn delivery, +10-15-20k souls diff at 10-15min.
and its ok for
Eraserqwe123 ))

Leaving lane to farm boxes and mostly buying green items early isn't "griefing"

This is how the game works to become stronger and win

This player wins most games with this playstyle and reach top 70 in EU
This is how some heroes in the game work - weak early and become very strong by outfarming

DO NOT say anything in chat when you are low prio because any report while in low prio will get you more games.

I made the same mistake. Had 1 low prio game to win. We won it but during that game I flamed my teammate and he reported me and it gave me 2 more games to win after that.

Just stay quiet and dont get reported

In response to everyone who's happy that Eraser is in LP.

Is he a weak player? It depends on how you look at it. Yes, he can't play any hero in the game except Wraith, and even more so, he can't play that hero unless he uses a specific build with green artifacts.

He plays Wraith because he likes it. The hero is very weak early on, and he can't utilize his build through card damage, so he's come up with a strategy of split-pushing and running around the map, thereby drawing enemies onto himself and gradually building up an advantage by smashing statues. Is that griefing? Hardly. Everyone decides for themselves how to play and enjoy themselves, and that's their gameplay.

Actually, is he worthy of his rank and playing in regular matchmaking? I'd say yes, if he plays Wraith and follows his own strategy.
However, if Eraser plays any other hero, he performs worse than 95% of all Eternuses (real Eternuses, not accbuyers or boosted ones). Therefore, either the matchmaking system needs to be changed so he's not given Wraith and soon finds himself on Ascedant, or we shouldn't complain about him playing his own strategy and even winning most games.

And ultimately, the report system shouldn't work like this; he only deserves to play LP if he's ruining, and he only ruins when playing other heroes (and even then, he's playing poorly rather than actually ruining).

Nobody has an issue with him one tricking, you wanna one trick go for it, the game has no draft right now and alot of people in high elo are good on a single hero they play.

Nobody's against doing your own strategies, people are not shitting on eraser for playing the macro game of "splitting and drawing enemies" because if they did, they would've had a problem with surrgery ages ago, yet surrgery is loved by most cuz his gameplan doesn't revolve around leaving the lane at 2 minutes and leaving your lane partner to the wolves.

that's what people have an issue with, the game flip flops up and down, you cannot just leave the lane at 2 mins to do boxes for the entire game, and you cannot split push effectively and draw enemies on a hero like wraith for the entir game, let alone building green items, this is why he's disruptive and actively ruining the game for everyone involved.

You found your own playstyle sure, but if your playstyle revolves around making the 5 other people on your team conform to your own playstyle then that's not a playstyle, that's putting everyone under the knife and expecting them to comply, none of your points mention the fact that the strategy of in itself while beneficial for himself, hurts the 5 others on his team.

You can put the strongest player on the same lane with him, thus both Eraser and this strong player will benefit: one will get all the souls from the lane, and Eraser will play according to his strategy.
I'm a weak player myself, I can't compare to Dimov and similar pro players, but when playing with Eraser in the same lane, I easily stood alone and the other players didn't complain much. Every game was easily winnable, as long as someone just stay AFK like BabyShark and other whiners.

P.S. Surgery is one of the worst players out there, and his actual rank is Phantom. He always play like 0-10-0 and crying in mic.

The worst part is you're actually quite decent at English, and when trying to communicate/make plays with you, you always ignore your teammates and just go and play in the way Valve has nerfed two times over, yeah no wonder you're constantly getting reported. Hopefully you'll learn how it feels like playing with you in your low prio games.
