melee hasnt been meta for a while, so i feel like posting this here so my favorite playstyle could be just a lil more viable
crushing fists is suuuch a weak powerspike compared to every other 6k item, to the point where youre kinda trolling if you rush it
when you look at the stats youre upgrading from melee charge, youre spending 4.8k on
+ 10% heavy melee distance
+ 10% melee damage
+6% bullet resist
some ammo restoration
-24% bullet resist shred if you melee someone 6 times (compared to other sources of shred that you get instantly)
a stun that just sorta happens randomly once you melee someone enough times (it feels hard to use it deliberately)
its not BAD, but it feels outclassed by everything else and could use a little juice
MAIN SUGGESTION!!!
- melee damage increased from +20% to +25%. (it doesnt make sense to me that the 6k melee-specific item gives you less melee damage than point blank, shadow weave, etc.)
other suggestions! (would NOT be ALL of these, just whichever of these are best!)
- bullet resist increased from +12% to +15%
- bonus heavy damage increased from +25% to +30%
- bonus heavy damage cooldown reduced from 7s to 4s, or even removed entirely! (it's difficult to land multiple heavy melees on someone, so having more reward for it would be nice)
- bullet resist shred per stack increased from -4% to -5%, or even -6%
- user has some manual input to decide which instance of melee damage should apply the stun once the target has reached max stacks (would allow for more deliberate use of it, rather than it usually feeling random)
OR
- stun is able to be proc'd multiple times if target is light meleed 6 more / heavy meleed 3 more times while at max stacks
- ammo restored per stack increased from +15% to +30% (billy gets this by default)
- if you are reloading, light melee damage half-completes your reload, and heavy melee damage instantly fully completes it (billy also gets this by default)
- heavy melee distance increased from +60% to +70% (this one probably deserved to be nerfed but i feel like including this here cause its funny)
also PLEASE fix the interactions with items like melee charge and dose quarters to make them actually boost the damage of melee abilities like puddle punch and leaping slash!!! and also fix the bug with crushing fists on abrams where meleeing someone while reloading breaks the reload and makes it take way longer!!! thank you
