I'm putting this here as a bug, because what the fuck else is it? I'm tired of losing matches solely because I am at a constant handicap of losing out on the lag compensation. Is it really that hard to queue up for an extra 2-8 minutes for a match where everyone is going to be in the same range for connection quality? That's a rhetorical question, of course it isn't.
The fact that you don't have a higher focus on geographical proximity in matchmaking and are putting so much energy into crappy lag compensation communicates to me that you guys still don't "get" multiplayer games despite decades of experience. This game is dead on arrival for me if you're just going to keep putting me on a server 2,000 miles away in LA while everyone else is 10-200 miles away.
I just had a match on a server much closer than that and everyone was also within the same area. I know the numbers exist even during this "closed" alpha to have higher quality matches in roughly the same skill and geographical bracket. So, with all your experience and talent why the fuck is this the route you're taking?
And if you think this is a non-issue, then it shows just how short-term your thinking is. I'm rubberbanding between ranks while getting better. So I lose what was a pretty close match where lag compensation was the deciding factor. Match in LA 4 matches in a row for no good reason and now I'm seal clubbing in Chicago. You really think that's fun for everyone?
