First I'd like to say that I don't care about my personal rank and I don't believe I'm owed anything, we just genuinely think this is a bug.
A group of my friends who I got into the game consistently play the game. Over the past week or so, we've been playing together, and now that everyone's fully learned the game, we typically win most of our games.
Everyone moves up in rank and is around Seeker now, but I have remained in Initiate II since starting the game. I wasn't sure why, but me and one of my friends decided to change that. We played Deadlock for 5 hours, going on a 9 winstreak. I won all of these games, often getting the most kills or player damage, and having low deaths. He went from Initiate IV to Seeker II, whilst I still remained stuck in Initiate II.
My friend and I think that it might be because I'm always the party leader, and usually play the game with at least one friend. That, or there could be some weird MMR issue going on.
I asked around in the discord, and was told a variety of different things, but mainly that despite the fact that I had a winstreak with some good games, it just simply wasn't enough to move out of Initiate II and that the matchmaking was working as intended. I heard that it's based more on your winrate, then how well you did compared to others in the game, and finally that it's based on your statistics on your specific character compared with others in your same rank.
If it really is working as intended, I don't really know any ranked system that takes this kind of performance to not even be able to move out of the second lowest tier of the lowest rank in the game. While I don't know if it's related to my actual rank, most of my lanes are also just against people who are clearly new to the game. Thanks for reading.
