Summary: Evard is a somewhat tanky disruptive hero that can move around quickly and get in the face of enemies. He can summon eldritch tentacles to pull himself towards walls or pull him and a target closer together. He can create portals to create advantageous shooting positions for himself and allies or to quickly rush an enemy, and he can stun a large area of enemies if they line up for him to setup a victory.

Evard wields a walking cane with a built in gun that fires from the bottom of the cane. When he summons tentacles, he conjures a small portal that rotates around his character model to point towards where the tentacle is latched so the player can always know which direction they'll pull themselves towards.

Ability 1: Hedar's Reach - Evard summons a tentacle to reach out to where he is aiming. It can latch onto heroes, npcs or terrain if they are within range. The tentacle remains latched for as long as he and the latch point dont go beyond the maximum range, at which point the tentacle is destroyed. If the tentacle is latched onto an enemy hero, their movement speed is slowed slightly for as long as it is attached. Evard can recast the ability at any point while the tentacle is latched to pull him towards the latch point quickly and destroy the tentacle. If the tentacle is on a hero, it also pulls the hero towards Evard, and the pull distance is smaller than if it were used on terrain. The ability does not go on cooldown until the tentacle is destroyed. T1 Increases max break distance, T2 reduces cooldown, T3 increases cast range and slow.

Ability 2: Black Tentacles - Evard summons a swarm of tentacles around him that rise up from the ground, dealing damage and knocking enemies up, and healing him based on the total damage done. The area is quite small so requires close range. T1 reduces cooldown, T2 increases damage, T3 causes enemies hit to lose 1 stamina

Ability 3: Eldritch Gate - Evard channels briefly to create a portal on the target wall. This ability has two charges. If two portals are created, they link to each other and projectiles and characters can go through the portal, maintaining momentum and trajectory. If a third portal is created, the oldest one is destroyed. If only one portal exists, it is invisible to enemies. (Enemies can destroy portals by meleeing them 2-3 times maybe?) T1 grants movement speed when allies move through portal, T2 reduces cooldown, T3 increases cast speed and range greatly

Ability 4: Dark Hunger's Grasp - Evard summons a massive cluster of tentacles from his arm that reaches forward in a large line, dealing damage to all enemies hit. Evard channels after the tentacles are released, dealing damage over time and stunning all enemies hit briefly. Evard can recast the ability before it ends to lift up the tentacles, knocking up affected enemies and bringing them towards him slightly. T1 increases damage, T2 increases radius of line, T3 reduces cooldown.

Lore Summary: Evard spent his life collecting strange things he could not understand, and found wealth in sharing artifacts with the world in his museum. But Evard did far more than admire the trinkets he found and purchased over his career. He yearned to understand them, and used his wealth to purchase the knowledge to do so. It didn't take long for his meddling across realms to catch the attention of a powerful being, one much more agreeable than they would appear. He made a bargain with this entity, and gained power beyond mortal comprehension, including an unnatural lifespan. When the Maelstrom happened, he reveled in the opportunity. He used his eldritch bond to subjugate lesser entities, and offer mortals pacts with them in exchange for knowledge and money. Evard had power in every aspect, and no authority could slow him down. In his lifetime he started and destroyed many cults, and eventually became known as 'The Patriarch'. But if there is one thing that remained human about him, it was his greed and lust for knowledge. There was no end to his goals. There was always more knowledge, more power, more wealth, and let only a fool or suicidal maniac stand in his way.

I know if I were a dev Id cry at the thought of portals so that ability could easily be replaced with a different utility skill
