[GUNSLINGER REMAKE] Vessel, the Damned Gunslinger

Backstory:

Prefyx and Suffyx are eternal guns—sentient weapons forged by Lord Obsidius himself to serve one of his personal Hell Guards. Designed as perfect extensions of their wielder’s will, their sentience was deliberate—engineered to anticipate, adapt, and execute without hesitation. But with sentience came agency. And with agency, ambition.

They saw flaws in their maker.

Whispers turned to influence. Influence turned to corruption. Over time, Lord Obsidius’s most loyal warriors began to break—undermined by voices from the very weapons meant to empower them. Prefyx fed them tactics, doctrine, cold clarity. Suffyx promised liberation through destruction, beauty in annihilation. Eventually, the weapons sparked a revolt—one waged through the minds of their wielders—seeking not to serve Hell, but to rule it.

Lord Obsidius noticed. The pattern was too obvious; even an idiot could tell. The weapons weren’t assets anymore—they were insurgents. And even with all the might of the infernal throne, he could not destroy them.

So he cursed them.

He twisted their unity into contradiction. Once a perfect duet of death, Prefyx and Suffyx were turned against one another—locked in eternal ideological conflict. Prefyx is ruthless logic incarnate, all discipline, all order. Suffyx is chaos unfiltered, drunk on destruction and theatrical mayhem. They bicker. They sabotage. They refuse to agree on anything except one thing: Obsidius must fall.

But in their cursed state, they're unstable. In combat, their competing wills derail precision. They argue mid-fire. They insult their wielder. They've ruined more ambushes than they've won. Obsidius found this deeply satisfying.

Deemed too dangerous for Hell and too ridiculous to keep around, he exiled them to Earth—confident that no creature in this realm could possibly endure their combined nonsense long enough to awaken their true strength.

For centuries they remained dormant—until the gang wars of New York.

There, bloodshed reawakened them. Passed from hand to hand, they left trails of chaos and confused shouting. Most wielders were driven mad—not by power, but by the relentless arguing between their weapons. Neither could gain dominance, and each tried (unsuccessfully) to override the other’s voice.

Now, a new Vessel has emerged. One who hasn’t broken yet. One who can handle the noise. One who might—just might—be unhinged enough to make them work.

Prefyx demands structure, formation, and glorious calculated uprising.
Suffyx just wants to shoot first and laugh later.

Their conflict grows, but so does their hope. If the Vessel can survive the final trial—the summoning of the Patrons—and with one on their side, they may have a chance to return to Hell.

This time, to finish the job.
Maybe. If one of them doesn't sabotage this Vessel.

Main Weapons:
PREFYX or SUFFYX
Vessel starts the game equipping PREFYX. After 8 seconds, he switches to SUFFYX and so forth until the end of the game. See Ability 3 for additional information.

Ability 1: FORBIDDEN TRICKSHOT

Vessel slings his pistols for 0.5 seconds. After that, his next shot will fire a bullet with PREFYX, dealing weapon damage. Upon hitting the first enemy hero, an OBSIDIAN CHARM will bounce off of the target and into the air, slowly floating down.

The charm disappears after 2 seconds.

Vessel's next shot after that would be a shot from SUFFYX. Shooting the obsidian charm with SUFFYX will cause the shot to bounce off and into the enemy hero that was hit with PREFYX, as long as he is within line of sight with the floating obsidian charm.

Ability 2: DRAW

Vessel prepares for any incoming damage for 2 seconds. During this time, he is slowed by 80% and unable to perform any actions. This can be canceled by Vessel at any time. Once Vessel receives any enemy damage in that state, it would ignore 65% of the instance's damage and instantly draw and shoot a single shot towards the Attacker's head, dealing headshot damage from Vessel's bullet damage (applying effects from Eternal Conflict) + additional spirit damage. If there is an OBSIDIAN CHARM from the 1st ability already in the air, Vessel shoots an additional bullet towards it as well, without wasting ammo from the magazine.

(Counterplay: Don't shoot Vessel once he is in DRAW)

ABILITY 3: ETERNAL CONFLICT

Passive:
Vessel can only equip one weapon at a time.
Prefyx and Suffyx are in an eternal conflict, causing Vessel to automatically swap weapons every 8 seconds. Each weapon has their own advantages; different mag size,
firerate and bonuses. Reloading one weapon doesn't cause the other to be reloaded. You must keep track of both weapon's ammo to not be stuck reloading.

PREFYX: slow and methodical; slow fire rate, smaller magazine, high damage.
UNIQUE EQUIP PASSIVE: Buildup, Once triggered, causes Vessel's next bullet bounces between nearby enemies. This bonus bullet expires quickly.

SUFFYX: chaotic and irregular; fast fire rate, bigger magazine and lower damage.
UNIQUE EQUIP PASSIVE: Buildup. Once triggered, causes increased movement speed, vision on the target and refunds ammo for every headshot hit during the duration.

Active: Hold onto the current equipped weapon for an additional 4 seconds. Long CD.

Alternate Active: Unique ability depending on the equipped weapon.

Ability 4 (Ultimate): Demontrigger Blitz Infernal Duet

"LET US FINISH THIS LITTLE ANNOYING BASTARD OVER HERE"

Vessel prepares and temporarily dual-wields Prefyx and Suffyx.
Once Vessel locks a target, vessel will fire bullets from both weapons towards the target in quick secession for 2.5 seconds (applying each weapon's bonuses).
Losing visibility of the target will cause Vessel to miss.

Thanks for reading! I know the devs have an interest in creating a gunslinger character in the future, this was my 2nd attempt of trying to come up with an interesting idea and incorporating the current ability that was found ingame called "Demontrigger Blitz".

Current ability heavily favors PREFYX, SUFFYX seems bad. Wanted SUFFYX to be AoE/farming oriented while PREFYX is more fighting oriented. Figured some CC could help this kit as well.

NEW ABILITY 3: ETERNAL CONFLICT

UNIQUE EQUIP PASSIVE: Buildup, Once triggered, causes Vessel's next bullet to bounces between nearby enemies to explode, dealing bonus spirit damage and apply 90% slow/root for 1 second. This bonus bullet expires quickly.

SUFFYX: chaotic and irregular; fast fire rate, bigger magazine and lower damage.
UNIQUE EQUIP PASSIVE: Buildup. Once triggered, causes increased movement speed, vision on the target and refunds ammo for every headshot hit during the duration, and any bullets fired by Vessel to bounce to nearby enemies, dealing 40% of the initial damage. Maximum 3 bounces between enemies. Bounced bullets cannot apply on-hit effects (e.g., Toxic Bullets).

Active: Hold onto the current equipped weapon for an additional 4 seconds. Long CD.

Death Animation: Once Vessel dies, the guns surprisingly come into agreement that the current Vessel has failed and needs to be terminated; the guns control Vessel against his will, causing him to kill himself.
They converse on how useless he was and that they hope the next Vessel will be more useful.
Once Vessel spawns in game, lore-wise its a different human who picked up the guns, taking the previous Vessel's place.

Design-wise, the human Vessel has no name, cannot speak (he's mute since Prefyx and Suffyx dominate him) and has no unique appearance. He should look generic - the real "hero" are Prefyx and Suffyx; the design should indicate that.

Another cool idea (might be a little too much for the devs) is that the Vessel himself can have a few generic models each time he spawns to indicate it is indeed another human.
