New Hero Concept: Yang (The Cursed Tomb Raider)
Character features: wielding a Mauser C96 pistol, carrying an umbrella on his back, and wearing a blue Taoist robe overcoat.(Inspiration: "Partridge Whistle" from the Chinese novel series "Ghost Blows Out the Light")
Background Lore
Yang is a legendary figure from the mysterious Eastern clan known as the "Mountain Movers." His bloodline is plagued by an ancient, malicious curse that causes his people's blood to mutate, dooming them to an early death. To break this destiny and save the last of his kin, he forged himself into the clan's deadliest master, spending his life delving into treacherous, abyssal tombs in search of the mythical Muchen Bead—the only artifact capable of lifting the curse.He possesses unparalleled agility and is an expert in Eastern martial arts (Qinggong), marksmanship, close-quarters combat, disarming lethal traps, and slaying bizarre monsters. However, after surviving countless near-death encounters in ancient ruins, he still failed to find the cure and lost one of his arms in a catastrophic tomb collapse.
Disheartened, Yang crossed the ocean to the United States, planning to spend his remaining, numbered days in a foreign land. But the gears of fate turned once more—a mysterious "Patron" (an ancestral deity) intervened, using supernatural powers to reconstruct his severed arm. Reborn, Yang now steps onto the turbulent streets of 1930s New York. This is not just a new adventure; it is his final hope to break his family's curse.
Playstyle & Weapons
- Primary Weapon: [Mauser C96 "Broomhandle"]
A specially modified, rapid-fire version of the iconic Mauser pistol with a 20-round extended magazine. It boasts an excellent fire rate and deals substantial Weapon Damage at close-to-medium range. 
- Secondary Weapon: [Vajra Umbrella]
Legend has it that this umbrella carries the same curse that afflicts Yang, binding it to its master. Forged from a lost technique blending refined steel and rare metals, its canopy and ribs are solid metal. When closed, it acts as a walking cane; when opened, it becomes an indestructible shield. -
- Melee Attacks:
- Light Melee: Vajra Palm Strike - A heavy, disciplined martial arts strike.
- Heavy Melee: Umbrella Smash - A brutal overhead slam using the closed Vajra Umbrella.
Abilities
[1] Phantom UmbrellaYang throws his Vajra Umbrella, causing it to spin slowly and travel in an arced trajectory toward a target location. If the umbrella travels further than 20 meters from Yang, it automatically returns to his hand.
- Mechanic: The spinning umbrella deals Spirit Damage to any enemies it passes through.And enemies struck by the umbrella will have their Spirit Resistance reduced.
- Synergy: If Yang casts Ability [2] while the umbrella is in flight or deployed, he will grapple directly to the umbrella's location.
Yang throws out his specialized "Flying Tiger Claw."
- Mechanic: If it hits a wall or building, Yang can swing through the air (like a grappling hook) or scale vertically to rooftops. If it hits an enemy hero, it deals minor damage and applies a short Root (immobilize) effect. If Yang collides with any unit (enemy or neutral) while swinging, his momentum stops immediately.
- Tactics: While swinging, Yang can freely fire his weapon or cast other abilities. Note: If the Vajra Umbrella [1] is currently deployed, casting this ability will automatically grapple onto the umbrella.
Yang violently snaps open the Vajra Umbrella, creating a frontal, durable shield that lasts for 5 seconds.
- Mechanic: The shield completely blocks all frontal bullet trajectories, projectiles, and enemy skillshots.
- Tactics: While blocking, Yang's movement speed is slightly reduced, but he can still hip-fire his Mauser with his other hand.
- Alt-Cast (When Umbrella is deployed): If Yang has thrown his umbrella via Ability [1] and it is currently on the ground/in the air, pressing [3] will channel his Spirit energy remotely. The umbrella will instantly release an AOE Spirit Pulse, dealing Spirit Damage and applying a Movement Slow to nearby enemies.
Yang chants the ancient nine-syllable mantra. After a brief channel, he draws a second backup Mauser, entering "Dual-Wield Mode," and manifests a Daoist Domain—a mystical aura with a 15-meter radius centered on him, lasting 9 seconds.
- Mechanics:
- All enemy units caught inside the Domain suffer a continuous Movement Slow.
- During the ultimate, Yang enters a state of harmony: 100% of his Weapon Damage is converted into pure Spirit Damage.
- Synergy: If Ability [1] is cast during the Ultimate, the umbrella will slowly orbit the outer edge of the 15-meter Domain, dealing damage to anyone crossing the boundary.
- Tactics: An incredibly powerful zone-control and team-fight ability. It restricts enemy positioning and uses pure Spirit Damage to melt high-armor targets who have heavily stacked Bullet Resistances.
