It appears that the animation speed and delay of throwing beetles scales off fire rate in a strange manner. It's most obvious when fire rate slowed: a mystic slow Kelvin can make them so slow to throw that you can only throw three total in the duration of the ability.
I say strange manner because, when testing this, it appears fire rate increases also cause clunkiness - the first beetle gets a long delay, and spam clicking no longer launches them at all.
