Mercurial Magnum and other things that ignore Plated Armor

Read what mercurial magnum does. It is dealing spirit and weapon damage when triggered. So no it doesn't bypass plated armor, only spirit damage does. You are literally waving over what is happening and you can't see the indicators????

In addition to the 30% chance to deflect bullets, which should already invalidate on-hit effects (Haze and infernus build up already are invalidated when bullets are deflected), plated armor also has a 50% chance to specifically deflect on-hit effects, which are effects that trigger when bullets hit. For most effects, such as the previously mentioned infernus and haze, they correctly invalidate the on-hit when it triggers.

For the items and abilities mentioned in the original post, this is not the case. Mercurial magnum's on hit effect bypasses both the bullet deflection and the on-hit prevention from plated armor.

Again, read what it says. Indicators clearly show that the plated armor is in effect. Unless it specifies all types of bullet damage then plated armor should work against spirit damage as well.

This isn't about it working against spirit damage, this is about it ignoring an on-hit effect. The bullet never hits, therefore Mercurial Magnum should never 'register' a hit to work off of.

This effect is exacerbated when you use something like Yamato's alt fire on Plated Armor. The bullet quite literally flies off and never hits the target. The fact that Merc Mag and the other effects still register would be similar to me shooting the air and having Mercurial Magnum still hit the enemies.

It did get hit but it got deflected, hence the word armor. The 50% on-hit prevention is for on-hit effects, I don't believe mercurial is an on-hit effect. Toxic bullets, yes. Not this item. Read what it says. Read what both items say.

Plated armor mentions "weapon damage", highlighted in yellow or orange indicating its weapon damage not spirit damage. If you want both, then plated armor should specify both weapon and spirit damage.

This seems more of a feature request than a bug.

Nowhere is there explicitly stated what effect is an on-hit effect and what is not. But dealing spirit damage when bullets hit is probably as close as it can get.

You keep saying to read what the items do, I think you might need to take a moment and read what we said.

This is weird behavior and it's properly reported. There's no need to argue further about this, if this is intended behavior, the report it will be ignored.

I did read what you said and my response is as mentioned above. Let their team decide whether to consider this or ignore it, as you said. Done responding to this post.

I do agree with what you said. I have read through the post you brought up and tested the items in-game. You are right, it does feel off and it seems like a bug. Good find.
