Menu scene appears incorrectly on ultrawide monitors.

The menu background scene is Vert- instead of Hor+ (it cuts off the top and bottom of the screen instead of extending the view on the sides), which ruins the framing of the scene on ultrawide screens (and likely somewhat affects it on Steam Deck!).

Note how you can't see the floor on the ultrawide screenshot

In order to make to prevent this from happening you could make the FOV in the menu scene be static, based on a 16:9 frame, so that on a Steam Deck, where the aspect ratio is 16:10, more of the scene will be visible vertically, and on a 21:9 (ultrawide) monitor more of the scene would be visible on the horizontal axis.

It is likely a default setting in Source 2 that needs to be changed, as the issue was also present in Aperture Desk Job (You can't see the table)

I second this. Games should be made so that every aspect can at least see as much as the most popular, 16:9 ratio: ratios taller than it should be able to see more vertically and ones wider, more on the horizontal, so that everyone can at least see what was framed for 16:9.

Third This :)
Here's what 32:9 (superultrawide) looks like
