Maxwell — The Ember-Winged

Maxwell spent most of his life adrift in the shadows of obscurity. A mothman born in a crumbling town stitched together by mines, steel, and superstition, he flitted from one dead-end job to another. Delivery runner. Factory line worker. Janitor. Coal miner. Every gig was a placeholder, every sunrise a dull repetition. He was haunted by the question that echoed through his hollow routines: Why am I here?

The answer came on a night soaked in soot and screams.

An accident—some say sabotage—ripped through the coal mine where Maxwell had been stationed. Black rock fractured. Earth roared. Fire swallowed everything. As his coworkers fled or perished, Maxwell stood still, mesmerized. The flames danced with chaotic purpose, unbound and beautiful. In their light, he found clarity.

He survived that night, but something inside him changed.

In the weeks that followed, he stopped looking for purpose in paychecks. Instead, he began to seek out matches, gasoline, and ignition. Maxwell became an arsonist—not for revenge, not for cruelty, but for art, for transformation, for answers. He set abandoned churches ablaze, torched warehouses for shady clients, and left behind spirals of ash. With every burn, he felt closer to something divine.

But it still wasn’t enough.

That’s when he heard whispers of the Patrons—occult figures in New York City who could grant otherworldly powers through arcane ritual. The stories spoke of flame-callers, reality-benders, and worshippers whose souls had been rewritten.

Maxwell packed his bag that night.

Now, in the sprawling ritualistic chaos of New York, Maxwell fights not for gold, glory, or government—but for ascension. To control fire like the Ixians, to become something holy in heat and ruin. To take the chaos he once admired and make it his.

He doesn’t fear death. He fears insignificance.

And he’s going to turn that fear to ash.

Moth Dust - throw a ploom of moth dust forward causing a thick haze to form. Enemies inside the haze will be slowed and have there maps not show player locations

Passive: if fireflies come into contact with moth dust it will detonate dealing bonus spirit damage

The little boy - use the biggest piece in your arsenal. Fire a rocket into the air that deals spirit damage after a short delay. The blast radius is highlighted for everyone to see
