K-Dash? Ag2 Dash? Please, Devs really have to remove this thing from the game.

-> this is the link showing the new glitchy-technique called K/Ag2-Dash

This is basically super-speed boosting when sliding down any ramp/slope/stair.

I mean, I personally LOVE all the so called 'schmovement' skills in this game. Boosting myself with corner/edge boosting, walljumping, diagonal-dash, all those things make the gameplay somewhat deep.

But this does not goes for such glitchy thing like K-dash. There are two reasons

1. It is just a lame and shoddy in-game engine glitch.
2. Unlike other schmovements, you can just perform it in any slopes even it does not looks like 'slope'. And this K-dash thing just gives way too much benefit when performed. No enemy can even react against the K-dasher, and impossible to counter it.
3. It is just an inconsistent technique (as you can see from the video above, it is just not performed at certain timezone in match, without any reason).

That's why I call this new-tech a 'glitch' and should be removed. Thank you devs.

its the same thing with canceling melles with items and viscus melleing in ballform. people call them "techs" then they're just exploit abusers. it would be fine in street brawl of other casual modes but abusing in ranked is lame and cringe.

I mean, melee punch from Viscous ball/Victor ult seems fine. What was once an exploit (TF2 Rocket Jumping), became a feature.

So the question is - should it be allowed? What one calls an exploit, is another's emergent behaviour.

Melee cancelling with items is intentional, they said so in a prior patch.

Stuff like ag2 has no place in deadlock though. It's precise and hard to pull off, but not even by a metric of skill, just knowing arbitrary server times.

Melee cancel was patched in terms of preserving velocity. You can still melee cancel, however, it will not allow you to roam all over the place. It was crazy good on Abrams. And would be even more crazier if it was brought back with crushing fists.

If they made it so every character can always do it I'd have no problem with it. I think it's awesome and super fun to do! Besides the instability between time/characters, what makes it different from other tech like bunnyhopping or as someone mentioned rocket jumping..

This is just a bit too complicated to be a feature with it only being available only at certain times of the match, and valve seems to be inconsistent with their stance on exploits becoming features. Although things like hmc and bottle refill were removed, we still have yamato cannonball, corner boosts etc… this does need to be looked into though

Feedback

After some testing, this is indeed very powerful and a bit tricky to perform. I like the movement tech idea (in general) and it's mildly enjoyable to execute. That being said, the current execution window (~1 frame) makes it impractical to reliably execute for me.

Just showed it to my friend who plays fighting games, and she can do it ~40% of the time when focused. She finds it fun, but also has less confidence she could consistently execute it in the middle of a deadlock match.

Suggested Fix

Please don't let this become wildly used as a high-level movement mechanic. Frame perfect mechanics are NOT friendly for new players. K-Dash is really powerful!

I suggest it be turned into an actual mechanic (consumes +1 stamina?) or an Item so that it's an investment.

Example Item: Power Slide

I kind of like this item idea, but I think it's awesome for a movement shooter moba like deadlock to have super high skill ceiling movement. I love being rewarded for being good at movement with being able to ag2 dash in the middle of games. It's not friendly for new players, but neither is corner boosting, and what initiate is going to be ag2 dashing?

It isn't just that it's frame perfect. It also doesn't work at certain timestamp within the game and ONLY on certain characters for some timestamps. It's an exploit of a bug in the code.

I think Slide-Dash (K-Dash) or something simlare would be awesome to have in the game. But as is, it's insane how strong it is for only a single stamina. It's like 50% of a Majestic leap whenever you want it, which is crazy!

Have you seen the prerequisites for ag2 dashing? It's not friendly for any player, nevermind new players.

I agree it shouldn't be inconsistent between time and character, obviously. I agree it should take more stamina, maybe 2 bars if the game registers you pull it off.
