Ivy flying Seven during ult

No in fact there are 3 characters can stop this
Very helpful comment.

If you were familiar with (and actually playing at a top level at) any other competetive game, youd know that this is only **technically** correct.

It is not feasible nor reliable to hit a flying AOE Bird with 250% movement speed with Bebops hook or any other stun for that matter. Especially not during a teamfight, where you are already being stunned and shoved around by other heros.

In fact, this combo is so strong, that playing anything else would decrease your chances of winning significantly. Hence no counterplay.

This trick costs 2 ults at once. So it's kinda balanced. Kinda. Ish.
It's not at all balanced because it means that after 20 min every teamfight Ivy and Seven ult and they win, they're flying around at a fast enough speed that you can't consistently counter it before you just eat shit and die

repost from another thread about the same topic:

although its a cool interaction it will always be pretty broken. combining it with black hole is also insanely strong.

i think the counterplay should be to damage ivy to make her drop whoever she is carrying. there can be a damage threshold that's x% of her max health which is visible on her health bar and when she drops the hero because of damage they get stunned/interrupted.

Knockdown looks like a viable choice against 7 in most games (even without Ivy on their team) with a long cast range. It is something you consider to buy, once you see the draft.

Had to play against it a few times, and had to think how to counter it. 3k investment counters 2 ultimates at once, until seven buys Unstoppable, which is rare. Also useful against other channeled ultimates, when 7's is on CD, so it pays off.

What counter? You off a perc? Its flying above the skies if they are in voice comms and have IQ above 30, you cant even shoot it

Perhaps balance it by reduce Ivy flying speed if she's carrying someone?
But only if the passenger is ulting, please.
I often use Ivy's ult to deliver people to and from the points of interest.
Would she be any slower, this transportation business will go bankrupt, making the ult an overpriced escape method... exactly like it was before the update.

Update: New patch silences the hero getting carried by Ivy.

Silence doesn't take someone out of an ult that is actively being used. Ivy Seven combo lives on.
Have your partner ult first and THEN pick-up.

I really hope they don't fully patch it but I figured I'd throw it here.

There being a number of counters doesn't make the combo feel any less cheese though. It's pretty unfun to play against plain and simple, regardless of 'counterplay', it feels really unintended to be able to move a stationary ult around with full freedom like that. I have little doubts valve will address it (they already started).

I think ult synergy is cool though, don't get me wrong, I just think maybe a stacked out seven ult being flown around the map for such a long duration isn't great for gameplay - it nearly eliminates the entire 'risk' of using his ult(stationary target) as ivy can just fly you away during it to escape, without you ever having to stop it to run, while offering even more advantages (ivy chasing down targets, moving to better areas after people run to block LoS, etc). It's not as simple as it seems to counter a good duo though and ivy flying around that fast and high up makes it pretty difficult to deal with; Especially when they are working with the rest of their team to all attack you at once...
