I get automatically report banned after reporting someone?

I've gotten report banned 3 times now for report misuse. The first time I get it because I indeed misused the report system. But the second time I reported 2 guys for feeding and got automatically banned for 4 days?? They were like 1-10 and 4-13 or something I can't remember exactly which match. But ok. Maybe Valve didn't think that was feeding and decided to punish me instead?? Fine.

Just got unbanned today so I played my first ranked match just now. I was in duo lane with a Bebop vs Seven and Viscous. We dominated that lane and then enemy Viscous rage quitted. We waited through 4 or 5 pauses and continued to play the whole match, he never came back. So naturally after the game I reported him "left match" and then I automatically got banned AGAIN. This time for 8 days?? Like at this point if you don't want me to use the report system you can just tell me. I will gladly stop using it. Or allow people with report disabled to play ranked.

Now that I think about it I'm just gonna stop reporting people in this game lol it's not like you needed me anyway.

Yeah it’s bad right now. Post here plz

Just something i'd like to check. The people you reported for feeding because they were 1-10 and 4-13, were they intentionally going to the enemy team and letting themselves be killed time and time again, or were they just bad at playing/gamesense/outmatched? 1st one is feeding, the second one is not.

That was a few days ago I don't even remember which match it was. They lost their lanes and then solo farming/split pushing for the rest of the game. Never joins team fights. But whatever, feeding or not, that report ban expired today. The point is today I reported someone for leaving a ranked game, 100% rightfully. And the game immediately banned me for reporting. I will not be reporting anyone after this ban that's for sure. Not my problem.

I mean what is 'matchmaking issue' supposed to entail? Very vague definition. If someone was clearly skill gapped and shouldn't have been put in the game I would say that it's reasonable to consider that a 'matchmaking issue' and report for that. Not to get them banned but to address poor matchmaking and flag it. Valve themselves know that the matchmaking has been screwed lately and they're trying to address it and implement fixes but then I'm getting report banned and locked out of ranked games for... helping them with that? Make it make sense.

I've also been 'report banned' (reporting disabled).

The ONLY reporting I've EVER DONE is reporting for matchmaking issues, in an order to help improve the game and it's match making.

If players (good or bad) clearly don't belong in a match, I report them for a match making issue.

Now I've been report banned for doing nothing but trying to make the game better. :\

There's a chance that "matchmaking issue" isn't as straight forward as we think, example: smurfing instead of simply a skill gap. If so, it starts to make sense that so many people get report restricted for using it because it would be seen as a false report when you flag a player with lower skill/who played badly 🤔
Would love some examples from devs about what the different kinds of reports are for.
