Hero idea: Noir (A mysterious grayscale hero)

The main purpose is to have a mystery element combined with horror. His main speciality will be debuff, tracking, and vision obscure which can turn him into an assassin. Get inspired while watching noir films, get random slender man nostalgia, and play against night stalkers + his ult that gives him a vision advantage while others' vision gets limited.

Name: Noir / Gray

Profession: contract killer/serial killer

Appearance: Grayscale character shrouded in a mysterious vibe. He whistles and hums eerily once in a while as a trace of his past self and it is the only tone that have emotion.

Lore: A mysterious man with no emotion, no desire, no memories, no colour, no face (I think), and no one knows or remembers who he is. It was like his past existence was erased and his humanity was ripped apart. No one knows who his past self was or whether it was he who turned himself into Noir willingly/unwillingly or some secret organization did it. No one also knows who his client is. Heck, no one even knows how to find him or how to make a deal with him. Some people even think he was a myth but the pile of cases does say otherwise. Either it was the voice in his head by his past self to give his current self a purpose or a real client giving him command. Even he doesn't know who he is and the one who gives his contract. Whether it is just a voice in his head or a real contractor, he did it without question.

First ability: Doppelganger
- Create a doppelganger that looks exactly like him. Doppelganger deal less damage than him. Can have multiple charges.
If have no multiple charges, Noir can exchange location with his doppelganger.
- Additional idea: Noir is invisible when he uses his doppelganger ability as a juke. The doppelganger that was hit will chase after the person and cause them
confusion (shooting and walking randomly) for 1.5 seconds. With this idea, Noir cannot swap with his doppelganger. Can have multiple charges.

second ability: Forgotten
Make his victim forget and be forgotten just like him.
- Noir explodes himself a grayscale explosion that damages and silences the enemy hit by it. The enemy that gets silenced also will disappear from the map ( just like the night stalker facet) for the duration of the silence.
- The final upgrade will be the enemies that get hit and Noir will be invisible to everyone except him / cannot be targeted by everyone except him.

Third ability: Contract / track / killer's instinct
An ability to see footsteps/ track enemies either:
- A passive when the enemy is under certain health makes him track them like blood seeker
- An active skill that revealed a trail of enemies or an enemy for a while.

Ultimate: Noir's world / Emptiness / Fog
- Create a very big spherical area (not a solid sphere like Kelvin ice so everyone can go in and out) Enemies and allies will have their vision obscured while Noir has significantly more visions than the rest within the fog (probably 3x more). All enemies cannot use flying, movement spells(maybe) and movement items while in fog. At max level, the enemy will gain fatigue which will cost them 2x stamina to dash to prevent them from leaving. Anything that removed debuff will remove everything except the vision range within the fog.
- Create a global fog on the ground level. Every debuff like on above idea except fatigue.
- The fog lasted for 6 seconds or lower.

Great design. My advice is, before coming up with abilities, think about a certain flow of gameplay and style that you want to achieve. Design your abilities in conjunction with each other and visualize how one could combine the abilities. I think you are on the right track, but not quite there yet.

Maybe double down on the idea that Noir is a hero who can isolate other heroes like Mordekaiser (LOL) does. Use this as a pillar and build all other abilities around this philosophy. Still, great work! I like the idea and concept behind the lore and visuals.

Thanks for the input! Yeah the idea definitely still not there. Making him like mordekaiser does sound like a good idea especially with him being forget and forgotten. My idea with him when making this is to make him feel like a mysteriously scary contract killer that give people anxiety by taking over their vision with his ult, make them doubt with doppelganger, and then, make them disappeared from their teams radar.

I can see the specific scenario you are describing, and I really like what I see. I think you can entice minor anxiety in player with an ultimate like that, by taking their vision and making them doubt. The core design would also enable a high skill ceiling and skill expression for your hero. And it even fits into the Deadlock setting. Would be sick if they do something in that direction.

Love the first 3 abilities, the character lore concept is good as well.

Not a fan of the ultimate, especialy the vision blocking effect and stopping some abilities from working but not others.

I rather see the ultimate be something a bit more generalized so it does not counter some characters while benefitting others.
Example;
Noir Void
An orb of grey/black fog appears centered on Noir. Any enemy and ally that shoots a target in the effect has 50% of bullets fired at them miss, Noir is unaffected. All allies gain a speedboost +4m/s while entering or exiting the fog.

This way it can be used both offensive and defensive, like McGinnis wall ability but a bit more powerful.
