Art for the main character of Deadbolt, "The Reaper"

I absolutely love both games, and would love to see a chance for the newly hired Hopoo staff bring their second game back to life through Deadlock, which valve might well own the rights to.

For a brief game overview, the gameplay involves a stealth breach and destroy type system, when you make decoy noises, feint people out, and then come in guns blazing once you've set everything up. He's got a lot of guns, but a rifle and a shotgun would suit him best, since they are the most used and would translate well into deadlock. His iconic "thing" is knocking on a door, slowly waiting for someone to come up, then blasting them as they open it (hence why the main icon is seeing the reaper through the pinhole of a door)
Overall, I think it would translate really well into a deadlock hero.
I'm not a developer, so I don't think there's any point in trying to develop nuances (level 3 of his 1 skill does blank), so ill just give an overview of the concepts.

----------
"Lore":
Interestingly, Deadlock and Deadbolt, while sharing similar names, also share the idea of a candle trooper/minion!
additionally, both have very similar worlds where occult modern themes come together. also, valve bought out Hopoo. what a coincidence!
from the Hopoo website: "DEADBOLT (2016) is a stealth-action hybrid, taking place in an world both occult and modern. It's hard, it's awesome, and the music is great."

Anyway, here's my concept for the character "Deadbolt"
visually, it would just be the main character. He's pretty much just a guy in a skull mask (as pictured above) and a trench coat.
simple, but very cool.
It could also be the antagonist of the game, Izban, an undead skeleton with horns, one being broken off (fanart below). may be a better option for copyright? not sure since valve owns Hopoo now. could also just do a similar knockoff design.

Abilities
(it is important that all of his abilities make very distinguishable noises)

1 Hotswap
Alternate between a shotgun and a rifle, which takes a second to swap, like a toggle. likely scaling somehow. maybe something in there where at level 3 its an insta swap. guns not currently out will be reloaded after 5 seconds or so.

2 Distraction
Throw a projectile invisible to enemies, which makes the sound of the ability used in the last 5 seconds, or if there was none, the sound of a door knocking.
if you hit an enemy with it, it does some amount of spirit damage, and plays whatever sound it would have played BEHIND them for the first one. plays multiple noises with longer durations. plays 2 noises with no investment. (on hit, one behind and one at point of landing)
Additionally, go invisible for a short period of time. (maybe like 3-4 seconds)
basically a decoy grenade for abilities. the knocking part is important for his ult.

3 Throw weapon
Throw your current weapon (shotgun or rifle) over a medium distance, briefly stunning and interrupting the first enemy hit, dealing spirit damage. instantly swaps weapon (just threw your current one at that guy!). After a hit, bounces back in your general direction, but not a far distance. While this is on cooldown, cannot swap weapons (again, missing the gun!). cooldown can be reduced to 0.5 seconds by running over the weapon which picks it up and reloads current gun.
passive: enemies killed drop "weapons" which can be picked up to reduce cooldown to 0.5 seconds, also reloads current gun.

- enemies who receive the stun are immune to further stuns from this ability for 3-4 seconds, to prevent sitting in their face and perma stunning them.

4 Knock Knock
Move THROUGH A BUILDING. CANNOT LEAVE THIS BUILDING. Become invisible within this building, gain immense movespeed, and see through all walls of the building. (most importantly, can see all enemies)
(think what happens when you noclip into a building in a game, but can still walk around on the "floor")

using the ability again on a wall within the building begins its channel, which has a 1-1.5 second duration. the channel plays a loud knocking sound effect, similar to the game.
after channel, BREACH: which stuns enemies in a very short radius around the wall, dealing spirit damage in a medium AOE with high damage falloff. (right by it? big damage. not nearby? low to zero damage.)
Additionally, gain immense fire rate increase, moderate damage increase, and moderate speed increase for a short duration. Also gain 2 extra charges of 3 (Throw weapon) which can be used without needing to reset its cooldown. throw weapon defaults you to shotgun in this mode, regardless of weapon thrown.

(to clarify, using 2 after breach when in rifle mode throws the rifle and puts you in shotgun mode. using 2 after breach throws the shotgun and brings out another one, keeping you in shotgun mode. this allows for breach plays using multiple stuns to benefit from the close quarters nature of the ability.)

- can use all other abilities inside a building, most importantly, 2 (Distraction) which can go through buildings.

(in game knocking on a door attracts the nearest enemy to come answer, but i think instant charms are kind of op, maybe it could be a thing.)

----------------------------------------------------------
download (1).jpgAbility combo ideas:
ult a building, throw 2 (distraction) at the opposite building from the enemy, they notice the noise, react and run away towards your building, thinking a stun is coming. but no! you were behind them! breach and secure kill. allows for some fun mindgame plays too.)
as a reminder, if using 2 (distraction) after using no other abilities for 5 seconds, it plays the same knocking sound as your ult, and lets you go invisible, as if you had just ulted into a building.
mind control em'.

----------------------------------------------------------
Weapons:

- Double Barrel Shotgun: fires a high damage, short range, shotgun blast with low firerate and moderate reload time
2 bullets (very low scaling, would have to invest a lot to get a decent mag size)

- Rifle: fires a moderate rate of fire rifle. good for medium to long distances. moderate reload time.
30 bullets (moderate scaling)

(alternate fire is zoom for both weapons, don't wanna overload the kit. would be cool to have a double fire for shotgun, but shiv already has that on his right click)

----------------------------------------------------------
General stats:
decent movespeed, very low hp (haze tier).
mag sizes scale different between weapons
hp scales very slowly
scales duration with spirit power (sit in ult longer, longer invis, more sounds from decoy)
maybe gun damage scales a little harder, but all else standard.

----------------------------------------------------------
main ideas are a gun focused character with some interesting stealth options and fun mindgame potential.
the throwing weapons gimmick should provide some reason to use shotgun and weapon throw mechanics at close quarters, due to the free reloads if you get your kill off.

obvious gun focused character, but i think there's some potential for a funny off meta spirit build.
anyway that's my submission. If i can figure out how to do the template thing ill update this with it.
Ill leave you all with the legendary soundtrack of this game, composed by the one and only:

Chris Christodoulou! (risk of rain guy)

Now I Am Become Death

Personally, Heynong Man is my favourite track, but this is the first of the list!download (4).jpg
