General Idea
I think it's a good idea to have a playable Viscount - the concept of an ancient vampire , much higher in the hierarchy and as old as a fossil (like Doorman ?). An entity that's tired of their own position, seeking for something new as their hobby. I mean for someone who lives for hundred of years (and not feral like Drifter) and so powerful, they had plenty of free time for their hobby. Something like this:
Lore:
Theobald Erasmus von Schattenkrieger-Gaillard (or Theo) has stalked the shadows since 1453, an immortal Viscount in a fractured vampiric hierarchy now crumbling under Vatican hunters and internal betrayal. He has long since grown indifferent to the endless politics and vendettas of his kind.
What still captivates him is human ingenuity: the mortal drive to invent and explore that immortals have largely forsaken. A scholar with 12 PhDs and counting, Theo has lived every rung of society—from ditch-digger to tycoon, assassin to academic. His latest obsession is building a synthetic blood empire to sustain lesser vampires and repair the species’ tarnished reputation.
The discovery of the Patrons shattered his belief in vampiric supremacy. These enigmatic entities, weaving rituals beyond the veil, fascinate him. He now pursues the current rite with singular focus, determined to dissect their secrets and mechanics.
Kits:
I think for someone like the Viscount, would prefer a fast and efficient method, in a way that's also keeping them clean and safe from harm (after all, living for longer than any beings should give them the knowledge to efficiently kill someone). So the kits is like a hit-and-run / harasser archetype:
Inspirations & Thoughts
For the kits: It's pretty much inspire by many current game character:
- The 2 is just Slork 2, we can add flying to be more fitting but probably make it too strong.
- The 3 is like the Vortex Shield from Titanfall 2, consuming projectiles and release it back - a "research" that only an ancient vampire could have time for
- The ult is similar to Storm ult from Marvel Rivals, which I think fitting his harasser play style.
For the lore: Other than Deadlock vampire's lore (which's still in development), the 2 main character inspired this idea was Regis from the Witcher 3 and Raul Tajeda from Fallout: New Vegas. I think having a character as old, wise and helpful like Regis is nice, while just being good in many jobs and skills due to their longevity like Raul (and bored as hell)
