Hero concept : Curio

Totally inspired by Night at the Museum, I think it's a character archetype that would perfectly match Deadlock and could be super fun.

Lore :

For more than 15 years, Curio lost hair while spending his nights watching over his museum. Maelstrom, paranormal phenomena, all the chaos of the horrible outside world and the whole museum came to life. The armors began to move. The fossils shook in their bases. Ancient paintings claimed their place outside. Curio used to protect these relics from the world of the living, now he protects the world from them. Determined to put an end to all this mess, he intends to complit the ritual to regain the calm of his previous life.

Gameplay :

Weapon - Security sidearm : Standard night guard pistol, medium rate, small magazine, decent accuracy.

Ability 1 - Living armor : Curio summons a knight's armor in front of him which strikes forward to repel enemies. Then the armor stays in place for a few seconds and attacks the enemies with melee damage before disappearing. The longer the key is held, the longer the armor will remain. (Looks a bit like Zelda in Smash)

Ability 2 - Curator's flashlight : Curio shines his flashlight for a few seconds, slightly dazzling enemies who look at it and benefiting from an increased fire rate.

Ability 3 - Collection of relics : Museum relics appear all over the map randomly during the game. When Curio collects them he recovers a little HP, temporary movement speed and permanent stacks which increases his weapon damage. (Looks like Bard in League)

Ability 4 - Hungry fossil : Curio summons a T-Rex fossil which pursues a chosen target and inflicts melee damage. The T-Rex disappears after a certain time or when killed.

The idea is a squishy character who makes you believe that you can kill him by running away but who lures you into the middle of his relics and armor then blinds you before machine-gunning you and finishing you off with the T-rex.Curio.jpg

Question:
Is the 1 holding like a charge, or is it you hold whilst trying to attack, move and use abilities? That sounds awkward, but very rewarding skill expression.

Why can't 3 simply be fire rate? Ability 2 could have unlimited ammo as a T3, similar to wraith, and increases duration for every x amount of shots (T2 could have that)? Making him the ultimate fire rate dps (wraith can be ultimate hybrid dps)? Like old dynamo, but cranked up, and gun focused of wraith's.

Night of the Museum referenced!

Great idea of a security guard just trying to get back to his regular life. Though wouldn't living exhibits bring up tourism and profits for the museum? The point of the film is that it only happens at night and the world is normal and not magical. With Deadlock, a magical museum full of living exhibits would be something open to the public, no?

I feel like you need to explore and expand the concept. Did the Musuem get taken over by all the exhibits and they are so good at maintaining their territory that monster hunters can't manage it else risking the destruction of priceless artefacts? So Curio goes to the Patrons because it's the only way he keeps/gets his job back by de-magicfying the exhibits in a way that doesn't damage them?

It's a public event that people reference and initially Curio was a guard of the museum who was working there when it happened. He kept working before the exhibits became too hostile, leading to the museum being 'closed' until it's sorted out.

That's a good question, i think it might work like Paradox charging her weapon !

I dont really know about the balance of all of this but why not, could be better
