Abilities
Innate Passive: Tchotchke's Gun
Tchotchke has a rotation of various Trinket. Upon firing (10s CD) the current active Trinket gets applied by the shot. Up to 8 at a time will stick to allies, enemies, and terrain, with the oldest fading away. Cycles the current Trinket upon reloading/ Tchotchke can reload with full ammo, this places the ability on CD.
You can see 5 Trinket, including the current one in queue.

Lobbing, Applying, or Shooting a Trinket via an ability removes it from the current queue, replacing it with another.

Lost and Found
50s CD
Recall all placed Trinket. Applying the following effects per Trinket.
  • 30 dmg per Trinket on enemies
  • 15 heal per Trinket on allies
  • Place a 2m radius Spot on the terrain, where the Trinket landed. Lasts until Lost and Found is used.
    • Allies receive halved gravity while within the circle
    • Enemies receive doubled gravity within the circle
    • Additionally applies the Trinket effect continuously within the area.
Upgrades:
  • Spot now applies 1 movespeed increase/decrease, lingering for 3s.
  • +.5m radius on Spot. +15 dmg/heal
  • -35s CD
Here and There!
18s CD
Lob a blob of your current Trinket Queue, applying their effects to allies or enemies.
Deals 180 Spirit DMG on enemy hit.

Upgrades:
  • 4s CD reduction +1 charge
  • Applies one additional random Trinket not currently in the blob. Additional spirit scaling
  • Fires an additional Here and There! at another valid target
Familiar Implement
10s CD
Animate your current Trinket, applying its effect to you until you use Familiar Implement again
Upgrades:
  • 5s CD reduction for Familiar Implement and Tchotchke's Gun.
  • Doubles the effect of Familiar Implement.
  • Applies Familiar Implement to the nearest unit within 10m. Doubling is not applied.

Denial Demesne
180s CD
Lay claim over a 30m radius area of The Cursed Apple for 15 seconds. Applies doubled gravity to enemies, and halved to allies this effect stacks.
Additionally three Spotlights constantly bounce around the area with 4m radius. These apply the effect of the "Spot" from Lost and Found and do not stack with Lost and Found. The Trinket applied is your active Familiar Implement upon casting Denial Demesne.

Upgrades:
  • 30s CD reduction, +5m radius
  • +1 Spotlight with 5m radius
  • Applies active Familiar Implement to all units within the area for the duration. Stacks.
Trinket
Effects are applied for 3 seconds. Each Trinket cannot appear multiple times in one queue, including if one is actively on a target.
  • Antique Revolver: +-5% fire rate and reload speed
  • Snake Oil:+-5% Spirit Resistance
  • Silver Bullet: +-5% Bullet Resistance
  • 0 lb. Weight: Gain/Lose a stamina bar
  • Horseshoe: +-1 movespeed
  • Wind Chimes: Immunity to Silence/Silence
  • Broken Pocketwatch: Progress/Regress a random on CD spell by 1 sec, each second
  • Toy Elephant: Double bullet projectile size/Halve bullet projectile size
  • Plague Mask: Increase/Decrease healing by 30%
  • Tiny Crate: Chance to fire a return projectile on hit/Chance a projectile is returned on hitting
  • Shoe Polish:+-30% Slide Distance

Lore
Tchotchke was a successful fortune teller, using their knowledge in thaumaturgy to nudge events down a desirable path. However, after being unknowingly humiliated on a smear radio-broadcast. They have been labeled a liar and a charlatan. Now the same worldly powers which once provided strength conspire against them, enforcing the world's perception as truth. Unless they can lay claim to a permanent portion of The Cursed Apple with the help of The Patrons, ruination will come.

Notes/Details

Design/Visual Inspiration: I honestly blanked/ran out of ideas for the Trinket, in my mind the more obscure/weird of an item/curio the better. Character is largely covered in them, easiest visual reference I can think of is PF2e's thaumaturge, but didn't actually base it on that, only realized near the end how similar it was. Mostly drew from Thaumcraft's thaumaturge, then for a while was thinking of the character as a clown. "Tchotchke The Clown" was a solid sounding name for a while in my mind, theming/cohesion started to split in my mind. Would have loved to do some wordplay/more theming with patterns of Three, but kinda got lazy.

Tchotchke's Gun's is named as such to sound similar to Chekhov's Gun, as throwing random nonsense will eventually do something. Though I picture the weapon as an overly complicated slingshot rather than an actual gun.

Design Flaws/Rationale: I made this character with the thought in mind that the game should have map/terrain interactions. The unreleased "Magic Beam", Holiday's bounce pad, Kelvin's ice path. All of these to me are directions the game has not fully explored, but add a lot of depth. In my mind the worst thing that could happen to the game, is for it to become CS:GO with smoke setups and precise rollouts that you can do on exact spots. With how nuanced/fluid movement is in this game, that feels like a travesty. So of course I came up with the idea of a character who makes moving around within a localized area miserable, so that you have to get creative.

And I do mean miserable, while I am somewhat proud of this character idea, by no means have I written up something I would like to see put exactly into the game. The abilities in my eyes fit together really nicely for the most part, but some interactions in reality would just be abysmal. IE "Gain/Lose a stamina bar" or "Immunity to Silence/Silence" with the 3rd level of Denial Demesne just could not feasibly exist.

Numbers are obviously placeholders to look reasonable, Trinket likewise I would love to see there being 20 of them. I briefly considered allowing you to stack multiple by default, whilst having some sort of rarity system, with a few outliers such as "Gain/Lose a stamina bar" be "unique" and non stacking, but felt like it added too much complexity, to an already far too complex character idea.
I would love to see gravity manipulating abilities tho.
