[HERO CONCEPT] Pagliacci — the White Clown {mime, mute, mislead} (with pictures)

Hi guys,


here is another concept from me, this time it is a mime!
I was trying to include the concept of "White Clown" by legendary soviet performer Leonid Engibarov.
Please let me know what do you think about this concept, feedback is very appreciated.

[HERO CONCEPT] Pagliacci — the White Clown

ta-da-da-dam! (applause) ti-li-li... tu-ru-ru... ta-da! (laughter)

...

(applause fading)
(footsteps of a leaving crowd) (silence)

They loved him. Every night, same laughter, same applause. And then everyone went home.

One evening he stepped outside after the show and found nothing but empty streets and people who looked straight through him.

ta-da-da-dam?

Silence.



He found the Ritual by accident. Heard an echo, followed it.

The whole world watches the Ritual — which means the whole world is his audience.

They say the Patrons grant wishes to those who win.

...

He already knows what he'll ask for.

Happiness. For everyone. Free of charge.

So that no one leaves unhappy.

(ding.)

He never speaks. Every "line" is a sound or a melody. His visual kit is drawn in white chalk — contour, semi-transparent, deliberately unreal. None of what he does truly exists. And yet it works.



M1 — Imaginary Gun

A white contour silhouette of a pistol. He fires with an exaggerated "pew!" gesture. No shell, no smoke, no gunshot sound — just a soft puff and damage.

Quick Melee — The Slap

Sharp and almost invisible. Pagliacci barely turns and — smack. Minimum movement, maximum sound. A casual slap that's surprisingly loud. Like he wasn't even trying.

Heavy Melee — Boxing Glove

He slips on a white contour boxing glove in one motion, lands a heavy theatrical hook, takes it off — all in one fluid animation.



1 — Balloon (2 charges base)

Press to inflate. Press again to pop at any moment. Pops automatically at full charge. While holding the balloon he has slowed falling speed, Pagliacci can hover in the air. The longer it inflates, the bigger the damage, AoE and knockback. Enemies cannot pop it.

  • T1 (1 pt): +1 charge (3 total)
  • T2 (2 pts): Explosion applies a slow debuff on enemies
  • T3 (5 pts): Inflation speed increases, maximum charge stays the same


2 — Invisible Wall

Pagliacci presses his palms against the air. A white contour wall appears. While he holds it, wall stands and he cannot move. Once released, the wall holds for a few more seconds on its own, then cracks and crumbles. Allies pass through freely.

  • T1 (1 pt): Increased wall length
  • T2 (2 pts): Wall becomes a Veil
  • T3 (5 pts): Wall lasts significantly longer after being released


3 — Imaginary Rope

Pagliacci grabs an imaginary rope with both hands and throws it forward in an arc, like a tug of war. Catches the first enemy in its path. Both are pulled toward each other, meeting halfway. On miss Pagliacci himself flies forward halfway. Small stagger on impact, Pagliacci recovers first.

  • T1 (1 pt): Increased throw range
  • T2 (2 pts): Enemy is slowed for a few seconds after being pulled
  • T3 (5 pts): Stagger on impact becomes a brief stun


4 — Last Round

Pagliacci stops. White contour boxing gloves appear on his wrists and ring ropes rise around him.

The ring traps everyone inside: any attempt to leave through an ability (dash, teleport) brings the enemy back to the ropes with damage, a slow. Pagliacci switches to melee, all attacks deal Spirit damage. 3 white star counters appear above his head visible to everyone. On reaching 0 HP: he falls. but does not die, instead he gets up again.

  • T1 (1 pt): +1 round (4 total) + reduced cooldown
  • T2 (2 pts): Ropes deal more damage on knockback
  • T3 (5 pts): +1 round (5 total) + bonus Spirit damage in the final round
