The Main Thing
Many abilities in this game are magical and have big visual impacts. This got me thinking:
Where does all that magic go after it's been cast? I imagine it turns into a goopy substance that gets washed away by the rain into New York's sewers.
But all this excessive magical waste gathering up and collecting together in the sewers cant be good... Somehow, through a mysterious process... A creature is created and emerges!
Would this be an ugly goopy creature or a cutie magical thing that can sit alongside Rem? Or maybe something inbetween cute and ugly that someone like Graves might enjoy?
Initially I was thinking this character could be similar to Mo & Krill, but instead of two guys, it would be three little creature things. With each one being responsible for one ability and then all them combine together for the ultimate.
Closing.
This idea came about while thinking about the overall world of deadlock and how it would be to exist within it, alongside the quote "Matter cant be created nor destroyed" was in my head. It really got me thinking and I really believe there's significant potential with this idea especially concerning world building. Unfortunately for me I'm not an artist in this sense and I am sorry that this isn't as detailed and fleshed out as some other people's hero concepts.
I felt like it would be better to leave this open ended for the deadlock team/valve to play with because they are so skilled with integrating story and gameplay together in a really fun way. But anyone's input in the replies would be beyond awesome to see!
Example's of other hero's abilities with big visuals that might get washed away into the sewers after being cast:
(entirely lore based, you wouldn't see it in gameplay.)
Celeste's Radient Daggers and Light Eater.
Infernus's Flame Dash and Concussive Combustion.
Seven's Lightning Ball and Ultimate Storm Cloud.
Abram's Siphon Life.
Graves' Immobilize line.
Everything Viscous does tbh.
I'm thinking maybe even Bepop's hyperbeam but I don't know if that's entirely electrical or if it's powered with arcane energy?
