Hero Concept: Joseph "Joe" Goldberg
Creed: "I'll do this to protect you."
Creed: "I'll do this to protect you."
Joe is a ranged hero who is nearly helpless in a direct fight, but his power lies in total information control, disorienting enemies, and creating perfect situations for his team. He doesn't kill with strength; he "removes" threats by clearing the path.
Abilities:
1. Basic Attack: "Peaceful Demeanor"
Joe fires a small pistol. Damage is low, but attacks apply stacks of "Paranoia" to the target (max 3). At max stacks, the enemy is briefly revealed in the fog of war for Joe's team.
2. Ability 1: "You" (Obsessive Interest)
Active on Enemy. Joe marks a targeted enemy hero for a moderate duration (15-20 seconds). While the mark is active:
Joe sees the outline of this hero through walls.
Removes all positive effects (buffs, shields) from them and applies a slight slow on first application.
Synergy: If the marked hero is near an ally, that ally also receives the mark (spreading paranoia).
3. Ability 2: "The Cage" (Collection)
Active on Terrain. Joe places an invisible trap (resembling a bookshelf or a crate). When an enemy hero walks over it:
The trap activates, stunning them briefly (1.5 sec) and dealing moderate damage.
The trap can only be detected at very close range or by specific abilities. Can hold 2-3 charges at a time.
This is his primary tool for zone control and self-protection.
4. Ability 3: "The Disguise" (Pretense)
Channeling Shield/Deception. Joe briefly (3-4 sec) takes on the appearance of the last hero killed in the match (ally or enemy). While the ability is active:
Enemies seeing him from a distance will see an ally (name and health bar matching that hero).
The illusion breaks upon close inspection or upon taking damage.
Used for safe map traversal, deception, and positioning.
5. Ultimate Ability 4: "Inner Monologue"
Active on Area with Large Radius. Joe targets an area. All enemy heroes within it hear his obsessive inner monologue for 4-5 seconds.
Effect: Their screen dims slightly, game sounds distort, and crucially - their minimap and full map are completely disabled. They cannot see allies, enemies, objectives, or territories on the map. Complete disorientation.
This is the perfect tool to initiate a team fight, escape, or secure a key objective (pushing a lane, capturing an artifact).
Interactions with Other Heroes (Lore & Special Reactions):
Upon killing a hero marked by Q: Joe says: "That was... necessary. For the greater good."
When using "The Disguise" (E) near the real hero he is impersonating: that hero gets a special suspicion voice line, e.g., "Something's not right here..." or "I have a strange feeling."
Game tactics:
Joe is the eyes and ears of the team, and a master of offensive support. He must not fight head-on. His ideal engagement is:
Mark the key enemy (Q).
Place traps (W) on escape routes or choke points.
Wait for the enemy to separate from allies, then activate the ultimate (R), cutting them off from help.
Joe's team easily cleans up the disoriented target.
Using (E), he can flank by pretending to be an "ally" to the enemy, or retreat safely.
His weakness is any direct aggression, burst damage, and heroes who can also see through walls or quickly dive onto him.
This Joe would be a unique tactical asset, forcing the enemy team to constantly be nervous and doubt what they see and hear, perfectly embodying the character's essence in gameplay mechanics
