General Description:

Carrion is meant to be reminiscent of the Grim Reaper, with a lot of their design relating to souls or death. Since their past business was bringing people to rest in the most efficient way possible, their gameplay revolves around heavy burst damage, with other parts of their kit applying debuffs to increase their already high damage.

Their character is meant to be a bit fish-out-of-water-y, since Death and their duty is all they have ever known, all manner of humanity is alien to them. They see emotions as unnecessary baggage, and value efficiency above all else, but it's clear they have the capacity to be less detached from themselves, however much they hide it with their calm, ethereal nature.

In terms of appearance, they are an anthropomorphic skeletal crow shrouded by a tattered cloak, their legs hidden in shadow as they float along the ground. They hold a large and eerily clean scythe by their side. On the back of their cloak's hood, they appear to be on fire, though this fire is similar in colour and appearance as the souls that come out of dead minions. This same soulfire effect is present within their cloak, along the blade of their scythe, and within the eyesockets of their skull as small dots.

Backstory:

The Aspects of Death are an extension of Death itself, formed from souls left to drift in the afterlife to do the bidding of their inevitable master. They are born from nothing and are made up of less, resulting in perfect tools for Death to aim, their sharpened blades acting as extensions of Death's duty.

All Aspects carry a simple purpose - Snuff out the flame of souls which are due to expire. Death grants them killing intent and a target from their vast list, and from there, it is only a matter of time before said target passes on. From mortal eyes, their work would seem invisible - Their perception would linger on the comprehendible; Heart attacks, infections - From the outside, it was not the reaper's doing, but unbeknownst to all, The Aspects brought lives to an end in a single, silent instant.

Death never saw The Aspects as 'people' - Merely means to an end. Their emptiness lent itself well to their grim task. So when one errant Aspect lashed out in fury at an occultist looking to achieve immortality, it complicated things. All of a sudden, the possibility of Aspects having an identity of their own was very real, as this anomaly started to calmly speak of the importance of life's cyclical nature - How all living things must come to an end eventually. They held emotion within them, however small and however isolated, and Death believed that it would be best for their tools to remain blank.

Death revoked this Aspect's status and a portion of their power, causing them to fall to earth as a mortal, and allowing them to see the world they roamed to take life in a different lens. Now, roaming the Cursed Apple, ashamed and demoted, and with a new identity to grapple with, Carrion is willing to do whatever it takes to rid themselves of their flaws and return to Death stronger.

Weapon (Gaze of the Abyss):

(Carrion fires crystalized spikes that slightly home towards enemies, embedding into them before exploding.)

Stats:

(The negative sprint speed is something I didn't think too hard about, basically the intent here is for Carrion to be slower while traversing the map, but faster while in combat.)

Abilities:
(Note: These abilities are meant to be their un-upgraded versions, but some of the upgrades require more explanation. I've marked some of these as light blue to show what isn't part of the tier 0 version of the ability, but there are some aspects of the layout which deadmock doesn't let me turn into that colour. Basically, if something seems out of place, that's because it's meant to clarify what an ability upgrade does.)

Ability 1:

(I don't really know how to balance this kind of thing, so please reply if you have any feedback.)
