This unusual item would enable lots of useful or funny interactions involving teamwork :

Buff Replicator - 6200 cost vitality item , requires healing booster
+20% ability and item duration
Inherits healing booster's passive stats

Passive : 24 seconds cooldown
Whenever you give yourself a buff through self-cast abilities or active items , duplicate that effect to the nearest teammate within 15m.

Most useful for saving items like metal skin , debuff remover , ethereal shift , unstoppable and abilities like Viscous cube , but also works for silencer , self-cast Bebop bombs (hence the longer cooldown than echo shard) , Seven stun , and even Haze cloak and Yamato ultimate. With several of those and some creativity , coordinated teams could attempt crazy plays.
 
You are actually doubling item worth and duping items, as unstoppable and many others items bought solely for active, not the stats. So this is overloaded and needs to be 9k souls and have reduced effectiveness on shared items, then it can be done in my opinion
 
Mind that in order to duplicate any effect (typically only one per fight due to the cooldown) the supporting player needs to buy a 7450 cost item , duplicating unstoppable or silencer would thus be a very steep investment. It would help teammates situationally so that they might not need to buy unstoppable or silencer themselves , but that does not directly help you. However , it would be very useful for hard carrying players (say a Haze with too many souls to spend) when they need to impact teamfights more and their teammates have far less souls.
 
Ok, lets say you playing some funny hero like bebop, mo, etc. That can go unstoppable or other funny item, He can build through healing booster with rescue beam and all that meta things. Then before 25 mins have full build - 7450 item + 6300 or less item+ a 7k for basic items. Its totally viable in current meta and doable. Moreover the problem is not sharing, but the duping. You will 12 secs unstoppable on haze, or you gonna totally counter haze with double metal skin. Potential is too good. This can only exist as late game option with a lot of limitations and a lot of options for dupe just removed.
Also it can be bought by two people without harming team composition, which is even more annoying to play against.
 
I see what you mean now. Perhaps there should be extra criteria like not being eligible for a duplicated item buff if you have the same item on cooldown , or even add a temporary "phantom item" with a cooldown preventing extra buffs of the same type. Thus no chained unstoppable or metal skin.
