Landing headshots with pellets-based weapons such as Pocket, Mo & Krill, Abrams and Yamato will not always show headshot indicator, despite the damage being amplified.
I've done a little bit of testing and Pocket and Abrams seem to be the biggest victims of this "bug":
1. Headshot indicator will ALWAYS show if ALL of the pellets that would hit the target, hit the head.
2. If only a single pellet would hit the target's head, the headshot indicator will show properly.
3. If while firing multiple pellets at the target's head and one would hit the upper torso/neck area, it is possible that the headshot indicator will not show.
4. This is where things get a bit inconsistent: sometimes the yellow head icon indicating the headshot WILL NOT show, however the 4 yellow lines that also occur on headshots WILL show.
I've attached a video to better demonstrate the issue:
0:00 to 0:09 - shooting the torso, demonstrating regular damage numbers. Total damage: ~392 (expected damage, 5.6 damage per pellets * 7 pellets per shot * 10 ammo)
0:09 to 0:16 - shooting the head, demonstrating headshot damage numbers. Total damage: 749 (expected damage, ~10.7 damage per pellets * ~75 pellets per shot * 10 ammo - within rounding margin)
0:17 to 0:43 - shooting above the shoulder, slightly beside the head, demonstrating inconsistent, if not non-existent headshot indicating. You can see a single shot doing as much as ~65-66 damage which is roughly 86% of a full headshot damage shot, but not showing the headshot indicator BUT showing the 4 yellow with a red outlines hitmarker around the crosshair.
Not shown in the video but easily reproducible: you can hit a single pellet in the head doing roughly 10 to 11 damage (~10.7) and ALWAYS showing the headshot indicator.
All in all, this seems at the very least inconsistent as a single shot could deal up to 86% of it's full headshot damage but still not showing the headshot indicator.
This is practically a non-issue for Yamato and Mo & Krill as the pellet spread is not as big, so this is probably going to be a pretty rare occurence for these two.
