Game/Steam crash when using party voice chat on Linux

1. Environment​

Software:

• Arch Linux - CachyOS x86_64 (also happened on default arch linux)
• Kernel: Linux 7.0.0-1-cachyos (also happened on previous version)
• KDE Plasma 6.6.4
• WM: KWin (Wayland)
• Proton Experimental
• Deadlock build #6451 (also happened on previous versions as well)

Hardware:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (16) @ 5.27 GHz
• GPU 1: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT

2. Description​

When in party using "Party voice chat" function (either as hotkey press or toggle in settings) crashes both Steam and Deadlock (possibly Steam first and then Deadlock second).

This crash was reproducible on two different linux systems with different

3. Steps to Reproduce​

1. Launch the game
2. Join party
3. Press "Party Voice Chat" hotkey/Enable "Party voice chat" toggle in settings
4. Observe crash instantly

At the current moment I can't attach logs from the system and also can't test if it's also happening on the Windows system.
However, I'm willing to send additional info if needed.

Also true for Fedora 43 on any Proton version I tried. Interestingly, if you mute your microphone system-wide, the crashes stop, but ... that doesn't help with the whole "can't use party voice chat" stuff. I just use discord instead for now, which chugs a lot of resources

editing the top level post and title to make the issue more clear/searchable for others, but the issue seems to be related to party voice chat, diabling party voice open-mic and unbinding the party voice PTT key solved my issue and is solving it for others, since the PTT key would cause a crash even while typing in chat

CachyOS/Arch Linux, 9850x3D, 9070XT, tested with both Proton latest and Proton experimental (have not had chance to try other Proton versions), happens both in hideout and in match

crash only occurs when attempting to type a message, opening/closing the text chat...

I use Linux (Nobara). If I bind a button to "Voice Chat ( PARTY ) - Push to Talk" in the AUDIO section and then click that button, the game and steam app crash.

if you have a keybind for Voice chat (party) (in my casae it was U button) and you type anything or press U you instantly crash in party. Can be in menus, custom lobby, whatever.

Unbind your voice (party) chat button for now until we find resolution i guess.
Funnily enough it did work before but now out of sudden it doesnt, it could be my funky audio device settings though.
