Game crashing leading to bans

Recently I was streaming deadlock, and had a VPK file corrupt on me and crash my game. I couldn't verify the files at all, and had to just reinstall the game. This lead to me getting a fat ban for pretty much no reason - I wanna play the game

I just had this same thing happen to me. Game crashed twice. I verified files with steam, and when I got back into the game I was banned from matches.

I just had this happen to me and I got a 6 hour matchmaking ban? It said to reverify, then download was stuck at 0% until I rebooted. I rejoined the game too but it was too late...

I'm experiencing this as well. I now have a day ban for leaving games I never intended to leave. The games crash and then it takes 10 minutes or more just to verify game files and get the game reinstalled. It's really challenging to play when I'm being punished for things out of my control.

Has anyone gone back after a 24 hour ban? I have new ram I want to test in a live game, I have played a lot of bot games with no crashes, but I am paranoid I will get a larger or permanent ban and I don't want to screw over the people I invited as well as myself.

I have experienced getting larger bans. 24 hours is the longest I've gotten yet. But it definitely has increased incrementally. I've been banned a total of like 3 times that I can recall, each being longer than the previous.

Edit: It just crashed again after a 24 hour ban so let's find out I guess...

Final Edit: Finally got back in. Banned for another 24 hours so I'm thinking that's the longest ban time currently. Here's to hoping. I'm thinking that my memory may just be bad so I'm going to invest in new sticks and see how it goes.
