Game crashes a ridiculous amount of times on both DX11 and Vulkan.

I (vyper) pushed the guardian in mid two separate times and my game crashes. It also crashed many other times in the same game too, especially at the start.

The rem in my game has also crashed/froze several times.

My specs on my pc are great. I'm on an rtx 4080 and a ryzen 9 9800x3d. I've updated drivers, I've verified file integrity, I've tried both vulkan and dx11. I've done everything I'm supposed to and my game still crashes! I enjoy the game a lot, but when it crashes 4 times in a single match it gets unbearable. There's no crash message, it just kinda closes by itself.

If there's any other information that's needed out of me, please ask!

Valve, please fix!

I'm having a similar issue and tried all the same fixes, but still get random crashes very frequently. It crashes more on dx11 than vulkan. I do have the QoL Lock mod installed, but I've tried launching the game without any mods and it still happens.

I did just get a new motherboard and flashed a beta version of the bios so I wonder if that's what's the issue. I've attached my last 5 crash dumps if a dev or anyone more knowledgeable sees this and is kind enough to help out.

@Omega.PNG Let us know if the bios update changed anything for you!

My game still crashes. but not due to an issue with it suddenly not working. I get the message "vk_error_device_lost"

Bios update seems to have solved the issue. Played on dx11 with absolutely no issues! One match was an hour long!

So I did a few things. Firstly, I disabled EVERY overlay. I then ran OS repairs using dism and sfc. I also installed redist (both x64 and x86.) Using the -dx11 launch option, the game crashes less. However, the game still crashes, but now it crashes less than vulkan.

I decided to run a perfview today and my game crashed right at the end of the game. (we lost the game as a result.)

If there's any Valve developer that would like me to send the perfview file, I absolutely can.

Edit: I am now going to use Windows Performance Analyzer to see what's causing the crash.

I was able to fix my crashing issues by making sure my cpu was stable with my bios’ overclocking settings. I went and used an app called CoreCycler to find the correct curve optimizer values for each core of my AMD cpu. If this sounds too involved, I would just go into your bios and turn off all OC settings that you have enabled and see if you still crash.

The only overclock I have enabled is AMD EXPO for my ram. I did notice using WPA that iCue might've been involved with the crash issue the entire time. So I'm disabling that program for now.
