I was thinking of an area control focused character focused around creating fungal infested areas around the map and augmenting troopers.
Weapon
slow firerate and projectile speed, low-mid range explosive spore projectile that slows to a stop then explodes if it doesnt land on a surface.
Ability 1 - Boomshroom
Toss a spore that travels in an arc, after landing or contact with a player, it grows over 2 seconds then explodes in an 8m radius for 100(spirit scaling) damage, if it lands on fungal ground or on a target standing on it, the explosion releases a gas in a 6m radius for 4s dealing 12 (spirit scaling) damage per second.
26s cooldown.
Upgrades
(1AP) : -6s cooldown
(2AP) : -0.75s growing duration & +1m explosion and gas radius
(5AP) : Boomshroom now always releases the gas upon explosion, and refunds 50% cooldown upon being cast from or on to fungal ground.
Ability 2 - Bubblecap
Place a spore for a very fast growing tall mushroom on a location that has 100 base health, but provides a 150(spirit scaling) bubble barrier in a 3m radius that will block LoS from abilities, after the barrier is broken the mushroom will release a knockback wave in a 10m radius that deals 30(spirit scaling) damage before decaying. If the Bubblecap is placed on fungal ground, it gains +5s duration and +50 bubble barrier

(1AP) : +75 bubble barrier
(2AP) : allies under Bubblecap have 30% increased healing received & receive 15hp/s(spirit scaling)
(5AP) : Bubblecaps barrier now has a return fire effect from damage outside the bubble, 50% damage reflection for gun damage and 30% for spirit damage, and the spirit scaling on the barrier amount is improved.
Ability 3 - Fungal heart
Place down a potent spore on target location that will expand fungal ground at a rate of 1.5m/s(range scaling) up to a max radius of 20m. The fungal heart has 150 health (spirit scaling), and the ground will reduce enemies movement speed by 20%, and spirit resistance by 15%, while increasing allies health regeneration by 2.5hp/s(spirit scaling) and spirit resistance by 10%
45s cooldown. 3s duration(scales with range as well) (duration only begins after max radius is reached)
(Yes I know its a lot of effects, but I want the heart to be worth focusing down)

(1AP) : You gain an additional 3hp/s health regeneration on fungal ground
(2AP) : Fungal heart gains +100 base health and 30% resistances while you are on its fungal ground.
(5AP) : -7s cooldown, ability becomes charged and troopers passing through fungal ground gain +40% damage dealt for 10s
Ability 4 - Mycelium Mist
Puff out with spore filled fumes, enveloping an 15m radius around you with a thick haze neither ally or enemy can see through, but enemies that enter the area will be afflicted with -25% movement speed and cooldown rate, as well as being visible through walls to you for 4s.
135s cooldown. 6s duration

(2AP) : The haze also creates temporary fungal ground below it
(5AP) : A smaller 5m radius cloud follows you around for its duration, and enemies inside the haze receive 2% of their max health as spirit damage every second.
