Friend doesn't get invite for a long time

I've invited my friend a few weeks ago, he still didn't get any invite.
After inviting him, I've also invited a few people and they got their invites after a few days. But 1 guy is still stuck in Limbo basically.
Is there a way to for him to get the invite?
