Doorman 4th Ability - I won the puzzle but at what cost???

I think Doorman is strong right now, but each time I imagine a fix it feels unsatisfying because I like him as a character baseline. The part that feels especially bad for me and people I've talked to is that even when you get to the end of the hallway, you still are punished. You not only get taken out of the fight, and damaged but when you are out you are usually met with a bell, the cart, maybe even a one way trip to the enemy walker.

Perhaps when "winning" the hotel minigame, the exit spot could be randomized? Maybe you get shot up in the air like the elevator you are running to is activated? Something that makes it feel less helpless if you are able to get to the end. There are so many ways for the doorman to slow you down and the baseline stamina reduction often stops you from getting to the end anyway.

tl:dr - Doorman's ult is strong enough, getting to the end should be less of a punishment than it is now.

I mean its an ult, you're supposed to be punished. I think its pretty neat that you can do a skill check to alleviate the punishment, not to mention buying counterspell to negate the damage entirely or unstoppable to not be ulted.

If it were to be changed, I'd rather it not deal damage if you escape but keep the exit spot predictable. Sometimes taking an enemy out of the fight is just a downside and the entire value of the ult comes from the guaranteed combo you get at the end. Take for example a 1v1 on the opponents side of the map; the ult gives more time for reinforcements to arrive.

This is an issue that will be alleviated slightly with drafting later, I play Ivy and I usually stun him when I exit. As much as I hate "Just buy item" you can use unstoppable to mitigate all that when you come out.

There's not a lot of counterplay to coming out unless you are dynamo or viscous or something that can come out invulnerable, no other ult gives the enemy team set up time to fuck you up
