Derank after logging back on

I only recently got deadlock so I'm not all knowing with how the rank system works, all I've heard is that it doesn't. I came off a 12 game winning streak and got myself into emissary 1 which I think is a good place however when I got back on later today, my rank had dropped to arcanist 4, didn't lose or anything and completely skipped ritualist when the game thought to cut the rope I'm climbing on to rank up. Does anyone know why this happened

They occasionally update the rank badges to match the distribution of active players, basically making it so the badges follow a more-or-less normal distribution. It's purely a cosmetic change, you're still matching against the same players you were before. Don't worry about it too much.
