Deadlock won't open when VPN is active

I have Deadlock split tunneled through my VPN so it's not going through the VPN. My VPN just happens to be on.

It also happened a little while ago I wish I could remember what update but I wasn't able to join lobbies in with my friends. But that was when I realized Deadlock had a VPN issue.

I'm having the same issue. I used to be able to play with a VPN without any issues.
Then some update recently broke it and now I have to turn my VPN off.

For some reason Deadlock also breaks split tunneling and it just won't work with it full stop.
