deadlock citadel\pak01.vpk is corrupt game crash

Getting the above error causing my game to crash randomly. Just happened now and gave me a 6 hour ban... any hope to be unbanned or is deadlock off the table for my day off :( ?

Any tips to fix the problem? I saw some other posts were people had success messing with their RAM refresh rate, but this didn't seem to help me. Maybe lower it even more??? IDK

is ur cpu overclocked? Disabling expo/xmp is a very lazy fix that will lead to worse performance, but it could work and I've seen that as a 'solution' all over. Mainly happens if your ram or cpu OC is unstable(expo/xmp is an OC technically) Increasing voltages could help, loosening timings, disabling cpu oc etc, Also could just be straight up overheating from cpu or gpu, check ur temps

I wouldn't consider that the solution if people who were never having this problem before all started happening with the october patch. They just borked the game.

I manually tune my ram and I have set ups where I get the corrupt crash every other game, and stable profiles where it never happens, it is also a thing with CS and Dota which runs on the same engine, don't think it's on the devs

Then why would it start happening out of nowhere. I didn’t have this issue until October and I’ve been playing since May 2024

The game is in active development and already very cpu bound, I would bet it just hit a point of instability for your system. The fact that I can replicate it and not every player has this issue points more towards the user than the game tbh

I have a 13900ks 4090 with 96gb 2x48 6800mhz ram that I bought specifically for this game to replace my 32gb 2x16 7200mhz. I’ve underclocked my cpu to make this game perform better and still have had issues. I ran Karhu ram test when I built this computer but will run it again for sanity. I think enough users have a problem with the recent patch for it to be a dev engine issue. I haven’t had any issues in any other games. Running test now for sanity. Also I have this rams timings looser than xmp with higher voltage for the record.

I would guess the fact that 13900 is both able to do ddr4 and 5, signal integrity and motherboard quality becomes important for dual rank kits like yours, and the IMC probably can't run 6800mts reliably on dual rank, even passing memory tests, cuz gaming is way more random and interactive than memory tests. Your 7200 kit is unironically easier to run for your cpu since its single rank. In your case maybe running like 6400mhz could help, gear 2, 2T. Performance hit would be almost nonexistent

This is my motherboard and it's ram compatibility. I looked at this before making the purchase.
