Ok, so this is a very niche problem, I understand if it isn't important and/or cannot be addressed.
Dvorak keyboard layout replaces the usual item buttons of Z X C with ; Q J. And ctrl+; does... something. Whatever that something is, it keeps keyboard presses from reaching the game. You can press ESC and everything works again. I keep accidentally doing it while sliding. Understandable if this is more something to do with the OS rather than the game itself, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to make a post.
