controller support disabled with patch

It works but for only wasd input from steam template, you would have to manipulate your key binds and play. It's rough but it'll do for now.
Yep. That's exactly it. The controller glyphs seem to be gone altogether. So you have to use that Steam template that translates your controller inputs directly into mouse & keyboard presses, and go from there. Left trigger = right mouse click and that kind of thing.

This is not the only solution, the better solution right now is to connect your controller after you see the title screen. Then it will work like it did before.

Does it show the controller glyphs? Because it does not for me. All that did was cause it to recognize my controller with WASD inputs. The game itself still isn't interacting with actual controller inputs at all. It only responds when Steam translates the controller inputs into mouse & keyboard inputs.

I am playing with controller now and its showing the correct glyphs for my 8bitdo Ultimate 2 Wireless

TEMPORARY SOLUTION:

This has worked for about 5 months now as this bug has been around for a long time but never addressed, if you connect the controller while the game is already running the controller will finally respond in the title screen and after. Remembering to do this every single time is tedious but it's the only way to use a controller on this game.

I repeat connect your contoller after the game has launched, never before and your controller will work.

Can confirm that this seemed to have worked for me during a quick hideout test.

It didn't matter whether it was plugged in on game start with removal & reinsertion, or if it was unplugged on game start and inserted after. As long as the controller gets connected with the game already open it starts to work.

This means I can continue my other bug testing when I have proper time for Deadlock!
