Constant disconnects from a match

I was Sinclair. Until around 20 minutes all was good in life, but after that I got constant disconnects.

I had music playing on the background from youtube music. On first disconnect I presumed it was my internet connection, but music kept rolling and the playlist is not saved to play offline.

Rejoin -button brought me back to the game.

Afterwards I was disconnected about 9 times (didn't keep count in game, but it was over 5 at least) in total during the rest of the match. I didn't catch any spesific reason as for why as they happened in varied situations. The opponent side Victor said in chat that he was having this issue too, and I noticed that opponent Paige was disconnected at least once, maybe twice too.

Every disconnect I was able to join the match swiftly with rejoin button on first press.

same has been happening to me for over a week massive lag spikes into dc match ID: 40675280 happened at 1219 random lag around 1251

It matters a lot I think, there's another thread with 4 other uses including myself reporting this and we're all on arch. Which proton version are you using? (I'm on experimental rn)

Also seeing this in Arch. Hardwired connection. Last couple weeks.

OS/Kernel: Arch - 6.16.4-arch1-1
DE: Hyprland
CPU: Ryzen 5900X
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (also replicated on an A6000)

Captured wireshark logs for any interested devs.

I also made a recent post, but numbers on that thread will help our case. I've grabbed some Wireshark dumps but nothing immediately stood out.

The disconnects haven't happened since for me. There was one match where there was a out of the blue disconnect, but it was singular and didn't seem to act like the multiple disconnects match.

Considering I'm on another OS than most that have this problem and it has not repeated since makes me believe it was an issue on my end one way or another.

A lot of us on Arch Linux are seeing the same thing, so it's nice that it doesn't sound like an OS bug which is probably more annoying to drill down.

I had a friend recommend using a VPN when playing, he was having similar issues in another game, I tried it and it fixed the issue! I just selected the closest server so lag was not an issue. Hopefully this works for others!
