Since late february, right around the release of apollo, i have consistently been getting a crash with an AMD driver timeout roughly 60~ minutes into any given play session, though exactly when seems random, and always happens in a fight, or when an ability or some kind of movement is used.
it is to the point where i have all but stopped playing the game except checking back every 2 weeks or so to see if a driver update or a game update has fixed the issue, but the game is extremely infuriating to play as of now, since i cant really go a game without crashing during a fight and losing because of it.
when i crash, the game freezes, both of my monitors go black, and after a few seconds, the game windows itself (while frozen) and i get an "Driver timeout. amd has detected a graphics driver timeout" error.
some basic pc specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM: 32gb
game is installed on an ssd seperate from the windows install drive
GPU: amd Radeon RX 6700 XT
for amd drivers, i am currently on driver version 26.3.1, which released on 3/3/2026. if i recall correctly, the timeout issues were still happening on the previous version of drivers as well.
I am going to try and list everything ive done already to the best of my ability, but ive tried a lot, so i may get some things wrong.
updating graphics drivers
fresh reinstall of graphics drivers
fresh reinstall of graphics drivers to an earlier version
running the game in vulkan (crashes when loading into a game consistently)
turning every setting to low
turning the texture quality to medium (i read somewhere there might be a memory leak on low)
reinstalling the game
verifying the game files
playing the game on one monitor instead of two (read somewhere this might help, but it only caused extreme flickering while tabbed out, and i didnt test further)
none of these things have fixed the issue. if anyone has any ideas, please tell me because at this point i either try something or i just cant play the game for the foreseeable future.
