Hi friends!
I recently had some trouble getting G-SYNC to work correctly, and after a bit of frustration and Googling, I noticed a lot of people were running into the same issues. So I thought I’d put together a quick guide with what I learned, in case it helps someone else out. Feel free to add your own tips or suggestions!

Step-by-Step: Setting Up G-SYNC

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel
    • Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to “Set up G-SYNC”
    • You’ll find this on the left-hand sidebar under Display.
  3. Select Your Display
    • Make sure the correct monitor is selected (especially if you’re using multiple screens).
  4. Enable G-SYNC
    • Check the box for “Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible”.
    • Then choose “Enable for windowed and full screen mode”.
  5. Don’t Miss the Third Option!
    • There should also be a third checkbox:
“Enable settings for the selected display model”
    • If you don’t see this, double-check your monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) settings - in my case, G-SYNC wasn’t enabled on the monitor itself, so this option never showed up!
Additional Tips!!!

Keep Your NVIDIA Drivers Updated

Use GeForce Experience to make sure you’re on the latest driver version.

Recheck G-SYNC Setting.
As of 09/04/2024, there’s a where the G-SYNC setting may appear disabled in the game— even if it’s actually on. simply reopen the settings tab in Deadlock, and it should show the correct status.

Just wanted to add that turning off Discord overlay can help. However you should also make sure the legacy overlay is turned off. That seems to have helped fix the problem for me. GSync is seemingly working now despite having suddenly broken on me in the last 2 weeks after months of it working consistently. I will report back if it breaks again but assume turning all types of Discord overlay off helps keep it fixed if I don't update further.
