Lore(Pretty long, Skip if you don't want to read all of it):


Sergeant James Jackson Clay has seen plenty of action throughout his career in the US Army, During times before the first Maelstrom ever occurred.

But once the Astral gates opened, everything changed. Clay happened to be in close proximity to one such gate in New York, being pulled into the plane of Ixia, and ended up being stuck there for 25 years.

Eventually, however, Clay returned, but forever changed, for better or for worse; Still in his youthful appearance as he were before the gates opened, Most likely having his aging slowed drastically, and having gained power to create Spectral constructs of any weapon he desires, using such weapon constructs with deadly and destructive proficiency.

Many rumours of his time being stranded in Ixia have circulated for years after his return to Earth, but the most persistent one being that he did numerous, various tasks and missions for a Powerful figure among the Ixians, in exchange for a way home, and the power he had been endowed with.

Much has passed while he was stranded in such a strange place, But his combat prowess has remained largely intact. His weapons may look like mere illusions, but the Pain and Destruction they cause is Very, Very Real!



Hero Characteristics(personal opinion):


I'd imagine his character being a combination of Duke Nukem(Duke Nukem franchise), The Soldier(Team Fortress 2), and Tommy Vercetti(GTA: Vice City).



Note: All of his Weapons(Including those used in his Abilities) are spectral constructs created by Clay.


Weapon:

M1919 Browning Heavy Machine Gun

Medium Range, Rapid Fire
High Magazine Capacity

Falloff range: 23m - 52m


Uses a Combat Knife for Light Melee
Uses a Shovel for Heavy Melee


Ability 1: Ballistic Rocket

Cooldown: 25s | Radius: 8m | Charges: 2 | Delay between Charges: 2.5s



Fire a rocket from your Bazooka that travels in a straight line and Explodes upon impact, Dealing Spirit Damage.


90 Damage(x1.5 Spirit Scaling)

Upgrade 1: +1 Charge
Upgrade 2: -10 Cooldown
Upgrade 3: +50% Projectile Speed And Improved Spirit Scaling(from x1.5 to x2.5)







Ability 2: Fragmentation Grenade

Cooldown: 20s | Radius: 7.5m | Duration: 3s

Throw a grenade that explodes either after a delay, or when coming into contact with an enemy, dealing Spirit damage and applying Knockback. Enemies hit will have their Move Speed reduced.

The Grenade can bounce off of surfaces, such as walls, floors and ceilings.

Aiming down to an angle less than 75 degrees lets you do an Underhanded toss.




75 Damage(x0.85 Spirit Scaling)

On Hit: -30% Move Speed

Fuse Delay: 3s




Upgrade 1: -7 Cooldown
Upgrade 2: On Hit: Applies Firerate Slow. Scales with Spirit Power(x0.075).
Upgrade 3: Now Causes enemies to take 2% of Max Health as Bleed Damage over time.








Ability 3: Run and Gun!

Cooldown: 46s

Passive:
Using an Ability grants you a Stack. Each stack provides Bonus Health Regen, Move Speed and Firerate. This effect can stack up.


Health Regen Per Stack: +1.5 HP/S(x0.075 Spirit Scaling)
Move Speed Per Stack: +0.5 M/S(x0.05 Spirit Scaling)
Firerate Per Stack: +5%(x0.02 Spirit Power)



Number of Stacks: 4 | Stack Duration: 8.5s

Active:
Load your weapon with Explosive rounds to deal Area of Effect damage with Every shot.
Your weapon will also have Increased Accuracy, but Slower Firerate. This effect lasts for 10 seconds or Until your next reload.



Explosion Damage Per Shot: 65(x0.25 Spirit Scaling)
Explosion Radius: 5m
Self Firerate Slow: -35%
Weapon Accuracy Increase: +60%



Upgrade 1: +1 Stack Duration
Upgrade 2: +15 Explosive Damage Per Shot
Upgrade 3: Passive: Now Grants 2.5% Spirit Power per Stack.








Ultimate Ability: Scorched Earth


Cooldown: 300s | Radius: 70m

After 2s, Fire a Warhead that causes a Massive Nuclear Explosion upon Impact, dealing Spirit Damage. Enemies behind walls take 25% less damage from the Explosion.

The Explosion creates a Radiation Field, that deals Damage over time and applies Healing Reduction to all enemies that are inside it. This effect lingers for 5s after leaving the Radiation Field.



Explosion Damage: 260(x4.5 Spirit Scaling)
Radiation Field DPS: 25(x0.275 Spirit Scaling)
Radiation Field Lifetime: 15s
Radiation Field Healing Reduction: 45%



Upgrade 1: +90 Damage
Upgrade 2: -60 Cooldown And +15m Radius
Upgrade 3: Radiation Field now applies -35% Movement Slow




Closing Summary:

Highly effective at Longer ranges, Clay can lay down serious bombardment upon his enemies with his Rockets, but has plenty of other tricks up his sleeve, should he be forced into Close quarters combat, or when he is chased.

His Warheads can utterly obliterate all opposition to him and his Allies in any Teamfight.
