Citadel game crash, can't verify files

Hi There

Not sure what the right way to go about this is.

Three times now, I've loaded into a match and immediately an error comes up saying that the citadel game file is could not be verified. The game shuts down and then I cannot click play again without getting suck in a download 0% state untill i uninstall deadlock. This most recent time I tried to verify the game files, that also didn't work. I think cleared the steam download cache then verified the files and that seemed to work. But When I rejoined I Was hit with a 6 hour ban.

Is there anything I Can do to resolve the issue? I'd love to keep playing but the prospect of being banned for a bug that seems to be frequently reported is a little concerning.

Thanks!

Hi There,

Wanted to circle back on this and see if there was anything that could be inferred from my crash logs. I've just received a 24hr restriction because of the number of times this has happened. If for whatever reason I can't play because my hardware doesn't agree with something, I'd like to know if it's something I can fix or if I just need to wait for the game to cook a little longer.

Last night I crashed 3 times, only one of which gave the citadel error mentioned above. It turned out that I had 8 crash logs in a two hour period. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the time.

Alright, I'm unsure why there's a lack of comms here.

But it looks like the citadel error is caused by a faulty ram stick. It was an arduous process, but once the faulty ram was swapped, i have been all good. After searching a ton, I saw someone recco this fix elsewhere. Just passing it along to anyone who ends up in my situation.

If you experience this issue again, try swapping the drive the game is downloaded to. That's what fixed it for my friend who had this same issue.

How did you find out it was a faulty ram? My game crashes are completely random, somedays it just wont happen. And sometimes my pc reboots, and others, the game just closes with no error message whatsoever.
