Backstory:

“Originally a low-life goon in Wraith’s gang, he quietly left to pursue the life of immortality he dreamed of.

While many vampires wouldn’t accept such a lowlife, one did, and raised him up to become an immortal vampire that harbored the insects that sucked life dry.

But things became boring and overwhelming fast. Blutson was surrounded in unfamiliar territory, with many of his “Kin” speaking in languages he never understood, living lives that he hadn’t yet lived yet.

Blutson missed the old life. Surrounded with whalebone corsets and ruby-adorned rapiers, Blutson longed to return back to the life of fedoras and machine guns. But he knew he wouldn’t be accepted back into Wraith’s gang, nor any other gang for the sake of being a bloodsucking vampire.

However, Blutson wasn’t alone. Many other criminals who also turned towards the life of eternity had also wanted to bring back their old ways. And so, Blutson coalesced them all. While many gangs despair of the creation of new competition, and the elders and dukes denounce their treachery, The Insects of the Blood Sun does not shy away from growing, nor getting their hands dirty.”

Appearance:

Wears a bowler hat, has dark, reddish-brown hair, a closed leather jacket, jeans, a belt and boots. His leather jacket has a flared out collar to give the appearance of a vampire cape, and he also wears a silver chain that, if you look closely, is linked together with tiny mosquitos. His right hand is normal with a leather glove, while his right has been bug bitten viciously and is slightly bloated, with sharp, elongated fingernails and a torn sleeve at the cuff.

His gun, “Blood Fee”, is a top break revolver with a crimson barrel. During the reload, Blutson flicks the gun open, collects mosquitos on his left arm, looking between what’s in front of him and his arm, before shaking the mosquitos into a ball in his hand, slamming them into the revolver, then flicking it closed again.

In his idle, Blutson always has his revolver extended outwards, while his left hand is resting on his belt buckle.

Personality, Relations, and Motivation:

Vain to a degree by virtue of being a rare mosquito vampire, and the fact that he's a mobster, but he has humility and even admits that he isn't the best. Can be a bit of an ass sometimes, and is very judgmental of people's personality.

Blutson at times can come across as annoying or naive. During times of hardship or difficulty, Blutson drops the fearless and cold leader archetype and tries his best to focus, talking to himself to remain grounded. When things are looking really rough, he starts to become afraid. And not adrenaline "I'm gonna die!" type afraid, "I am going to die." type afraid. You know, Arthur Morgan "I'm Afraid."

Blutson is rather ignorant to the current happenings of the world:
  • Blutson knows Yamato's actual name, or rather "Knows a guy who knows a gal who's the sis of a guy."
    • Blutson however doesn't know that the actual Yamato is dead, and is confused when he's fighting "Yamato" since he expected her brother.
  • Blutson doesn't know who or what Oathkeeper is and is confused "Why it sounds like her arm is whispering."
  • Blutson never met or knew Infernus before he became a vampire, nor does he know him by his old criminal reputation, and only knows him as a bartender.
  • Blutson doesn't know Pocket is Arin, though he will say they look familiar, but overall just thinks they are just a homeless person.
Blutson hates Mina and Lash.
  • He thinks Mina is too self-centered and petty, and insults her for her attempts to become Viscount of New York
  • Blutson hates Lash because... he's Lash.
Blutson has considered recruiting Graves, Drifter, and Shiv
  • Blutson wants to recruit Graves for her necromancy, though states that if he can't, he'll "Rip that hand off her corpse."
  • Blutson mostly dislikes Drifter due to the fact that he has nearly made his gang starve several times, though has wanted to recruit him for being someone who left vampire society like him.
  • Blutson appears to know who Shiv is and was, and wishes him luck in the Baxter Society.
Blutson doesn't like Vyper because he thinks she's pathetic and the fact that she's infatuated with Lash. He has refused to recruit her.

Blutson doesn't hold any actual hatred towards Wraith, though he does see him and her fighting as inevitable.

Blutson doesn't want to expand his territory into Spanish Harlem since he doesn't want to cross Ivy, but also because Ivy is "Too kind to wrong".

Blutson's motivation in the ritual is to make his gang just as powerful as the Seventh Moon and Wraith's gang, while also making sure they don't end up starving from lack of victims.

Blutson smells like a marshland.

Ablities

(I'm a little lazy to give actual detailed values on things, so here's the rough explanation

Thirst

"It freaked the shit out of me the first time this thing came out of my mouth."
“Produce a pointy proboscis from the mouth and lunge forward, dealing light melee damage and heal proportionate to damage dealt. One enemy can get impaled in the lunge, causing them to be carried and be stunned while in this state for the length of the lunge. Only one enemy can be impaled at a time.

You can get stuck to walls if you lunge into one, *getting stuck for as long as the potential distance you would’ve traveled*. Enemies who are impaled into a wall will also be stuck.”

*If you were to go… say, 2 meters, then you would be stuck to the wall for a few milliseconds since technically you are still travelling the distance with thirst.

Trail of Pests

“It’s morbidly amusing watching them panic and flail, even though… they know what’s going to happen, why did you go into the cloud of mosquitos?”
Charge Ability
2 Charges

“Whenever you dash, you leave a trail of bloodsucking pests that deal spirit damage to any enemy that walks through.”

Insectoid Rise

“Leap into the air with mosquito wings and fly. While airborne, you have increased fire rate and dashing only consumes half your stamina. You are unable to move in any way other than dashing.

You now dash in the direction you’re facing while airborne, and halt all momentum at the end of the dash.”

The Swarm

“Sometimes, you have to become an insect.”
“After charging for 3.5s, explode into a swarm of six giant mosquitos. While in this form, you move in the direction you are looking*. Anyone within the swarm will get attacked by the mosquitos, taking spirit damage and reducing spirit power.”

Each mosquito has a portion of your maximum health and resistances, and damage taken by these mosquitos will be transferred to you after the swarm ends.”

*Think Grey Talon’s owl if it was a swarm of Graves’ Dead Heads.

(PLEASE NOTE: This hero doesn't actually represent my opinions on other heroes, and is just how I write the character)

Some selection scripts.

Select

“Mob life ain’t fun… well not with that attitude, it isn’t.”
“Vampires need to diversify outside of being rabid or civilized. So, you know what? I’ll be the stepping stone.”
“My gang is eternal. My competition… Ehh, not so much.”
“Mina needs a humbling worthy of a hundred lifetimes, and the Drifter is a misguided attempt at being a rebel.”
“Wraith needs better competition. And Yamato? Heh, he ain’t superhuman. He ain’t gonna last long.”
“Who am I? I’m the mosquito man, bitch!”
“Mosquito vampires as a concept is a bit eldritch in nature, so, you know what? I’ll fit right into this ritual.”
“My gang will thrive…”
“If my mob is going to survive, we gotta extend our reach, but we’re running out of time, so I gotta summon this elder god yesterday.”

Unselect

“Really?”
“We’ll do things the old fashioned way.”
“I do not serve.”
“I need a proper meal first.”
“I’ve got old debts to settle.”
“Wraith’s gang is giving me shit, so I’ll be back.”
“I’ve got a few dozen mouths to feed.”
“I’ve got time.”
“I’ve got a couple of goons that I want to put on the table for my mobsters.”

I have actually had the idea of a character having some sort of damage or utility on their dash also. We have celeste so it is possible we see something like this in the future.

I couldn't forgive myself without having Blutson some sort of mosquito cloud in his kit, but I didn't want it to be in his ult since it would just be a more annoying Haze/Seven, but at the same time needed it in his kit in an intiutive way.

So, I decided to make the main kit revolve around Insectoid Rise, since Rise helps you open up opportunities to impale someone to a wall with Thirst, and also allows you to make massive trails of insects with Trail (assuming you have enough charges)
